We are thrilled that Leah Eckhart, RN, our Fox Valley SANE/Forensic Nursing Coordinator for our Ascension Mobile Sexual Assault Treatment Center, has been honored as a 2026 Nurse of the Year. Leah was one of three nurses chosen from across the state by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in partnership with the Wisconsin Nurses Association. This prestigious recognition highlights her critical role in expanding forensic nursing across the Fox Valley.

She was selected for her patient-centered approach to difficult situations like domestic violence and sexual assault, and leading our program's unique mobile unit, which removes barriers by bringing specialized care directly to patients. Leah’s leadership and dedicated work exemplify our commitment to caring for the most vulnerable in our community.
