This week has been heavy with meaning and purpose. Jesus was despised and betrayed by those who both feared and hated Him for what He preached and for the miracles He performed, but also by those who followed and had relationship with Him.
He was hung on a cross as the perfect, spotless lamb slain for all the world to be redeemed and as a way back to the Father and creator.
He said, “It is finished” and gave up His spirit.
The earth shook.
The sky darkened.
The veil was torn.
The debt was paid.
The prophesies fulfilled.
Jesus was placed in the tomb.
But the time in the tomb was not passive waiting.
It was not emptiness or hopelessness.
There was no lull or gap in the story.
In the unseen realm, Jesus was declaring victory over DEATH and SIN, once and for all.
And it wasn’t just that the debt was paid in full.
The war had been won.
It was final.
When that happened, can you imagine His proclamation and the weight it carried? Scripture doesn’t give us a lot detail in this moment when Jesus proclaims to the spirits because they did not formerly obey {I Peter 3:18-20}, but there’s no way Jesus did that quietly or passively.
Symbolically, today is the first day of the NEW creation.
A way past shame, guilt, sin, and death.
A way back to the Father through Jesus.
He is ✨RISEN✨
Happy Resurrection Sunday 🌸
