Update 6:

Maddie is being transferred from BWMC to BUMMC. She has received wonderful care from Dr. Alexa and medical team however they feel she should have round the clock care with the neurology team at the mother hospital. I remain strong and optimistic and continue to pray for her healing, body and mind. This was all so unexpected and never did I think we would step on this path, but here we are taking each day as it comes. I will remain by her side, my love and care unwavering. Keep Maddie, me, and my family in your thoughts for everyday I feel your energy strengthing Maddie leading her towards healing. ❤️‍🩹 ✨🙏🌿

Update #5

There’s been a gap in updates about Maddie. Things were not going well and I made an executive decision to remove her from Easton UMMS and move her to BWMC and under the care of a different Neurology Team. Maddie had to undergo a second surgery this morning to place a new drain due to intercranial pressure and possible infection. All went well and we are confident and hopeful with this new team she will progress as she should have been. We will remain in ICU for a while longer and once things improve she will have a shunt put in place.

The nurses at UMMS were REMARKABLE! Brittany, Maddie, Miranda, Megan x2, Alicia
They were just as supportive of me as they were diligent with Maddie. NOT ONE of the medical staff had ever cared for someone with a Pineal Gland Cyst removal nor did they have the right facility to care for this type of brain procedure. It became very apparent that her Neurosurgeon was overlooking critical sings and my intuition told me to get her out asap and the nurses agreed.

Our Salty Sisters family is rallying around Brooke and her family. Brooke's daughter recently had a cyst removed from the pineal gland of her brain, and Brooke will be stepping away from work until further notice to be with her as she heals.

If you are able and feel called to help, donations can be dropped off at Taylor Bank on Chincoteague Island under Brooke Wright's account, or in the locked mailbox at Salty Sisters.

There will also be a fundraiser basket with local goodies and raffle tickets available soon. More details to come.

I have had an overwhelming, in the best way, response to Maddie’s surgery and recovery. With that said there is a lot of question which is understandable. Often times we ask for prayers and we don’t even know exactly what we’re praying for, not that it matters, because when we lift people and their families through love, we vibrate high and our projection of love is the greatest of manifestations.
Maddie had a cyst on her pineal gland that sits deep in the brain. Removal of the cyst is a rare surgery and even more risky. Most people in their medical career will never experience witnessing or supporting the after effects of the surgery. Maddie, in many ways, is a case study and her recovery one of patience and close monitoring. your positive thoughts, if only momentary, reach far and wide aiding in and guiding her body to do what it’s made to do…heal 🌿✨❤️‍🩹

At this time, my full focus needs to be on my daughter and supporting her through her recovery. Just as I am fully present and attentive to each client during their session, that same level of care and focus is what my family needs right now.
