Yesterday, Rebel Ranch attended the Chino Valley Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.

It was our first community event since the passing of our ranch manager, Carlos.

We showed up.

And we were met with a community that doesn’t just speak about faith and values — it lives them. The message shared by Victor Marx echoed what we believe at the ranch every day:
Be kind.
Be courageous.
Be uncompromising.

Those aren’t just words to us. They’re how Carlos lived. And they’re how we will continue to lead.

We are honored to be one of two recipients of this year’s proceeds from the breakfast. Thank you for believing in the work we do and in the youth and families we serve.

We’re grateful.
We’re steady.
And we’ll keep showing up.

There are some people who leave fingerprints on a place.
Carlos left his heart.

Our ranch will never be the same without his laugh echoing through the barn, his steady leadership in the arena, and the way he showed up for every person who walked through our gates. He came to us broken, and in time became one of the strongest pillars of our family. He led with grit. He loved with depth. He taught from his own scars.

His tough exterior was matched only by the size of his heart.

On Sunday, March 1, from 2–5 PM, we invite our community to gather at Rebel Ranch to celebrate Carlos’ life — not just to mourn the loss, but to honor the impact. The lessons he taught. The resilience he modeled. The compassion he extended.

We can’t fill the space he leaves behind.
But we can fill this ranch with the kind of love, strength, and unity he stood for.

If Carlos impacted you, your family, or your child, we welcome you to come share stories, memories, and the joy he brought into this world.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Ranch Manager, Carlos Rojas.

Carlos came to us broken. And we had the privilege of watching him grow — not only through our program, but into a man who helped build programs that now change the lives of others.

He led with strength and compassion. His excited laugh was like a kid on Christmas morning — infectious and unforgettable.

Carlos never hid his flaws. He used them as teaching moments. He showed our kids that growth is possible. That your past does not define your future.

His tough exterior was only matched by his great big heart.

He was more than a staff member. He was family. A brother. A son.

He will always be part of the fabric of Rebel Ranch.

The gates will open tomorrow. The horses will be fed. The mission continues.
And we will carry his legacy forward in the way we serve.
