It’s such a wonderful feeling when staff are appreciated by our patients. Our newest team member was honored in such a way and she was over the moon along with our office manager! Great job girls! Thank you for taking the extra time to put our patients at ease and answer all their questions.

Hardest foot correction / reconstruction is when I have to address surgery done by someone else. Previous Keller bunionectomy that I feel the base of the proximal phalanx was overly resected causing a pseudoarthrosis so when we initially planned to clean up the joint and add bone graft we were not able to do so thus, we stabilized the joint and placed a plate to reduce the contracture. Immedialty we noted less pressure sub first met area. We proceeded to shorten the 2nd met and release the joint capsule medically and over correct laterally to give our 2nd toe a re**us position. We used Paragon28 plate and Stryker snap off screws.

Previous “bumpectomy” done elsewhere plus something else not sure what resulting in the left side and today correcting it with Arthrex tight rope FT and shortening osteotomies of 2nd and 3rd mets!

There’s quite a few ways to do the Lapidus now days however I am partial to Stryker Lapifuse system over all the others. Thank you Stryker for your support and intra op guidance!!

2nd toe severe digital deformity managed with shortening osteotomy and hammertoe repair and skin plasty to aid with needed derotarion and temporary Kwire fixation, also small flexor tendon tenotomy of the 3rd toe. Thank u to a great first year resident assistant.

Internal brace for ATF repair. Today we used Smith and Nephew brand and I got to say I like it better.

Love those pesky Os trigonum resection cases. The x rays never does it justice. Look at the Fluoro pic before and what we actually removed. Sometimes they are easy, sometimes they have a mind of their own. We had one of each today.

Peroneal tendon partial tears on the MRI CAN BE very misleading! Sometimes report states suspicious/ partial tears and intra op it’s a different story. In this case it states suspicious of possible tears and it definitely was a nice localized tear inferior to the tip of the fibula and measured about 2cm in length as well as the tear was deep. We primarily repaired with Stravix graft and I know the patient will do well!!
