Previous “bumpectomy” done elsewhere plus something else not sure what resulting in the left side and today correcting it with Arthrex tight rope FT and shortening osteotomies of 2nd and 3rd mets!

There’s quite a few ways to do the Lapidus now days however I am partial to Stryker Lapifuse system over all the others....

2nd toe severe digital deformity managed with shortening osteotomy and hammertoe repair and skin plasty to aid with needed derotarion and temporary Kwire fixation, also small flexor tendon tenotomy of the 3rd toe. Thank u to a great first year resident assistant.

Peroneal tendon partial tears on the MRI CAN BE very misleading! Sometimes report states suspicious/ partial tears and intra op it’s a different story. In this case it states suspicious of possible tears and it definitely was a nice localized tear inferior to the tip of the fibula and measured about 2cm in length as well as the tear was deep. We primarily repaired with Stravix graft and I know the patient will do well!!

Lapiplasty/ Lapifuse/Lapidus is not for everyone. In the last couple of yrs I have had multiple second opinions either failed procedures or outcomes not what patients expected. In this case the IM angle was not reduced so the previous surgeon did a medial eminence reduction and proximal Akin with a staple. The HAV never reduced so we wend back in to fuse the first and reduce the contracture on the 2nd MTPJ by releasing the EDB to the second and Z plasty lengthening of the EDL to the toe and temporary pin for 6 weeks .
