Our Story
It all started with a gift and a dream. In 1998, Dr. James Marshall donated a 77-acre horse farm to ARISE to give children and adults with disabilities access to year-round recreation and adventure. Throughout the last 20 years, ARISE at the Farm has given joy, hope, friendships, skills, and more to people of all ages and abilities. At ARISE, we think of the Farm as a “gateway” to ARISE; a way for people to connect with us and learn about all of the programs and services that we offer.
At the Farm we offer therapeutic and adaptive horseback riding, inclusive summer day camps and schoolbreak recreation, a high ropes course, an accessible fishing pond, and an inclusive playground with a fully rubberized surface. We are able to provide these necessary programs thanks to our generous supporters and donors.
