Oklahoma Physical Therapy Choctaw Expert physical therapy care for treatment of orthopedic, sports, spine, and balance conditions. Less Pain. More Living. FAQ'S

-What time should I arrive?
(1)

Our mission is to have a direct and positive impact on people’s lives by providing specialized and specific orthopedic care based upon each patient’s individualized needs. We will greet our patients with a sincere smile, apply sound reasoning and evidence based methods, to help them achieve their goals, answer their questions, and guide them towards a life of less pain and disability. From first contact through all facets of care, including administrative, billing, and skilled treatments, quality and sincere care will be our central priority. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your first appointment to ensure all the necessary paperwork is completed. After your initial visit you only need to arrive at least 5 minutes early.

-What should I wear? Please wear clothes that are comfortable and loose fitting so that we can evaluate and treat the area that is causing pain. For example if we are to treat your knee, then you should consider wearing shorts or sweats.

-Do I need to bring anything with me? Yes, please bring the following:
Your physical therapy referral from your doctor (if you have one). Your insurance card if your insurance is covering the cost. If insurance isn’t covering the cost then please bring payment information. Any other reports that may have been given to you by the doctor. Any braces, splints or crutches that you are using.

-How long will each treatment last? Most appointments last 60 minutes. After the initial treatment, the trained physical therapist will create a customized treatment plan for you. We have a hands on approach and spend quality time to treat each patient’s needs.

-Who will see me? Your initial visit and evaluation is always with a trained physical therapist. Your additional visits may be with a trained physical assistant which will be determined by your physical therapist. The physical therapist is always involved in your treatment. No Rehab techs here, only licensed professionals working with patients.

-What can I expect? During your first visit, a trained physical therapist will complete a thorough evaluation and will create a customized treatment plan, which will include onsite visits as well as a home exercise program to aid in your treatment between visits.

-Do I need a referral? No, you do not need a referral. On May 23, 2014 Oklahoma Gov Mary Fallin signed HB 1020, granting Oklahomans direct access to evaluation and treatment by physical therapists (PTs) without a physician referral. The bill, which was promoted by the Oklahoma Chapter of APTA (OPTA), permits patients to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist for 30 days without a referral from a physician or other provider. This direct access allows you to take a more active role in your own health care and choose safe and effective treatment directly from physical therapists.

-How does the billing process work? Physical therapy services is much like doctor’s office services. When you are seen for treatment if you have insurance, we will verify your benefits, which is why we ask you to bring your insurance card. Verifying your benefits helps us determine your co-pay for physical therapy. We collect this co-pay at your visit and apply it to your account. We will then bill your insurance company using a particular code letting your insurance company know we are treating you. The insurance company will process the information and pay the agreed upon fee. Your insurance company should then submit an Explanation of Benefits summary that will be sent to you with a balance due. We will receive the same Explanation of Benefits summary along with a payment check. This process typically takes about 45 days.If you have questions at any time throughout the billing process, we are happy to help! You can contact our office via phone at 405.281.5785.
