For more than 130 years, Benefis Health System has been a trusted provider of care for northcentral Montana, and we’ve made it our mission to provide excellent care for all, healing body, mind, and spirit. der the new Benefis name, derived using Latin root words “bene” (meaning good) and “fis” (faith). And we have continued to grow throughout the region, ensuring we are able to bring our programs and services to more Montanans. Benefis Health System now serves about 230,000 residents in a vast 14-county region. We are located on three campuses in Great Falls, in Montana’s Capital City of Helena, and in the rural towns of Choteau and Fort Benton. Benefis has more than 500 beds, including long-term and hospice care, and employs more than 300 physicians. We are consistently ranked among America’s top hospitals by the nation’s leading healthcare ratings organizations for a range of services, including cancer care, joint replacement, stroke treatment, wound care, and home health. We are honored to call this part of Montana home, and we never forget that the best care is personal. That’s why we treat each patient as we would a family member or friend.

Benefis Teton Medical Center partnered with Healthy Teton County, MT and local community organizations yesterday for the annual Bike Rodeo, which focused on bicycle safety, helmet education, and injury prevention for local youth.

The event featured interactive safety stations, bike handling activities, and helmet fittings and education to help students build safe riding habits as they head into the summer season. BTMC staff volunteered alongside community partners throughout the day to support safety awareness.

Thank you to Benefis Teton Medical Center Foundation for generously providing the helmets distributed during the event, helping ensure children in our community have access to proper bicycle safety equipment!

At Benefis, we see the impact our nurses make every single day through the compassion, skill, and dedication they bring to patients and families across Montana. Thank you for all that you do.

Carli Neal, RN, and Tylee Harvie, LPN, visited the elementary school this morning to teach students about proper handwashing in a fun, hands-on way. Using stuffed animals, they showed how easily germs can spread. Students also used lotion as “germs” and viewed their hands under a black light, making it easy to see what’s often missed. Afterward, students practiced proper handwashing, focusing on the 20-second rule, scrubbing all areas of the hands (including between fingers, thumbs, and under nails), and learning when it’s most important to wash … like before eating and after coughing or using the restroom. It was a great way to make learning fun while helping kids build healthy habits!
