Appalachian Save a Life Day is happening Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 3–6PM at multiple sites across the New River Valley. Come pick up free naloxone (Narcan) and training to complete your first aid kit and learn how to save a life. Locations include Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Floyd, Pearisburg, Pulaski, and Radford.

First Responders don't always talk mental health, but we do.

Join us Oct. 18 as Kenny Mitchell Jr., founder of Operation Yellow Tape, shares insights on mental health, su***de prevention, and PTSD awareness. He will be focusing on proactive practices to help us all avoid suffering in silence. Su***de awareness is 24/7, 365-day commitment.

This event is open to the public, including all first responders (not just firefighters), their families, and veterans. Check out the flyer below for details!

Grief support starts tonight in Pulaski at InStill Mindfulness.

Being With Loss: A Grief Support Group
Starting Monday, September 15, join us every other week from 6–7:30pm at the InStill Center for Wellbeing in Pulaski.

This group offers a safe and supportive space to:
Acknowledge and validate grief
Reduce emotional and social isolation
Develop healthy coping skills
Foster resilience, hope, and community

Facilitated by Dr. Alan Forrest, this open-ended group is free to attend (donations welcome). All are welcome.
