I've been doing pediatric home visits in San Diego for over 10 years.

Three things no textbook taught me:

🔹 Parents who ask the most questions raise the most confident kids. They're not being difficult — they're doing their job.

🔹 Waiting rooms make kids sicker. A child with a viral fever surrounded by other patients almost always leaves with something extra.

🔹 The doctor-family relationship is the most important variable in long-term health. Not the best hospital. Not the most expensive insurance. Trust with a doctor who actually knows your child.

Abril llegó — y con él, los ojos llorosos, la nariz que no para y la tos que aparece de la nada.

¿Es alergia o es gripe? Aquí la diferencia clave:

🤧 Alergia:
— Síntomas que duran semanas
— Sin fiebre
— Empeora afuera, mejora adentro
— Ojos rojos o con picazón

🤒 Gripe / resfriado:
— Fiebre posible
— Mejora en 7–10 días
— Cuerpo cortado, cansancio

Si tu hijo lleva más de 2 semanas con síntomas y no tiene fiebre — probablemente es alergia. Podemos evaluarlo en casa.

La fiebre asusta. Pero no toda fiebre es una emergencia.

🔴 LLAMA AHORA si:
— Bebé menor de 3 meses con cualquier fiebre
— Temperatura mayor a 104°F (40°C)
— Tu hijo está muy decaído o difícil de despertar
— Fiebre sin mejoría después de 3 días

🟡 OBSERVA en casa si:
— Niño mayor de 3 meses, fiebre entre 100–103°F
— Sigue activo y tomando líquidos

🟢 NO ES EMERGENCIA si:
— Fiebre leve post-vacuna (normal 24–48h)
— 99°F sin otros síntomas
