Before optimizing your iodine levels, your body absolutely requires the essential co-factors to process it safely: Selenium, Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C. If you just blast your system with iodine alone, you risk triggering a thyroid flare-up.

Biohacking Tip: If you supplement Vitamin C, do not take it at the same time as iodine. Vitamin C alters the chemical form of iodine in your gut, changing it into iodide. Lugol’s iodine has shown strong antibacterial activity in laboratory studies, including the ability to disrupt and eliminate tough biofilms formed by bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
