Our NICU provides round-the-clock support for babies to help them grow stronger and healthier — so they’re ready for their journey home with their families.

We’re celebrating our incredible rehab team at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center — occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists — who work alongside our care teams to help patients heal, regain independence and safely continue their recovery at home once discharged. Thank you for your compassion and dedication to our patients!

In remembrance of 9/11, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center's Emergency Department care team and others joined Councilmember Cesar Fernandez and the Office of Assemblymember David Alvarez in bringing breakfast burritos, donuts, cookies and coffee to the firefighters and EMTs of Chula Vista Fire Station No. 5 — just minutes from the hospital.

It was a meaningful way to connect and show gratitude for all that the Chula Vista Fire Department does for the City of Chula Vista and its residents.

First responders are a vital part of our community’s network of care — frequently working together to bring people in need of emergency care to our hospital. Special thanks to Seven Mile Casino for inviting us to participate in this annual program.

Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center recognized International Overdose Awareness Day last Friday. This annual observance is the world’s largest campaign to bring awareness to substance use disorders, remember those who have passed away and spread the message that overdoses are preventable.

Friday's event introduced our substance use navigator, Sylvia, and the important role she has supporting patients at Sharp Chula Vista who have substance use disorders. In this role, Sylvia educates patients and loved ones about substance use disorder, helps start treatment in the hospital, connects patients to follow-up care, and provides education to a patient's other care team members to ensure compassionate, quality care.

Sylvia and our entire Sharp Chula Vista team are committed to supporting those in our community who face substance use disorders.

Congratulations to Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center’s 2025 Nurse Residency Program graduates! 🎓 🩺

This remarkable group of 24 nurses has completed a yearlong journey from students to professionals, marked by resilience, growth and dedication to patient care. A ceremony was held earlier this week to celebrate their first year, as well as honor the guidance of their preceptors, mentors and leaders. Each graduate received a commemorative pin to celebrate this important career milestone. We are so proud to have you on our care teams — strengthening patient care across our hospital.
