April is Autism Awareness month 🌸

And it's more than just knowing autism exists!

It's about listening, accepting, supporting, including and celebrating (+ much more)!

Every small act of understanding, empathy, and support helps create a world where neurodiversity is valued. đź’ś

We asked teens to talk about doom scrolling… and their honesty says a lot. 📱

What starts as “just a few minutes” can turn into comparison, pressure, and feeling stuck. But the real takeaway? Awareness is the first step. When teens have a space to talk about it, they start to take back control.

Sometimes kids cry without knowing why — and that can feel confusing for both of you. 🤍

In those moments, they don’t need answers… they need presence. Try saying:
“Sometimes tears speak first. I’m right here.”

This honors their emotions and reassures them they don’t have to figure it out alone. Staying close, calm, and connected is what helps them move through it. 💛

Filtered images. Unfiltered pressure.

In this conversation, students get real about the impossible beauty standards pushed by social media and how easy it is to lose yourself trying to measure up.

But the truth? The most powerful thing you can be is YOURSELF.

Originality isn’t a flaw. Authenticity isn’t a risk. It’s your POWER.

If you have a teen who could benefit from building more mental awareness… this is for you 💛

We’re hosting a FREE interactive workshop for teens, led by the incredible Advanced Peer Mediators from Olympian High School — student leaders trained to support mental health and real connection.

Together, teens will explore how they spend their time, reflect on what truly matters to them, and learn how to be more intentional with where they put their energy.

This is a space for growth, honesty, and meaningful conversations — led by teens, for teens.

In a world that’s more “connected” than ever, so many of us still feel alone. But this conversation proves something powerful: we don’t have to stay that way.

These students are opening up about the loneliness epidemic and more importantly, how spaces like WishWell’s Family Circles are bringing people back together, one honest conversation at a time.

Every generation has its challenges — but today’s teens are growing up in a world that moves faster, feels louder, and is constantly online.

These are the conversations that matter. Listening, understanding, and supporting the next generation as they navigate a very different world. đź’›

Sometimes kids say things like “I can’t do anything right” when they’re feeling overwhelmed or discouraged.

In moments like that, what they need most isn’t correction — it’s reassurance. Try saying:
“You don’t have to do it alone. I’m right here.”

A simple reminder of support can ease the pressure, rebuild confidence, and help them remember they don’t have to face hard moments by themselves. 💛

A big THANKS to the inspirational Olympian High School .ohs who swung by the office to reflect on the moment they first gained access to social media and how it shaped their friendships, confidence, and mental health growing up.

Social media can open doors for connection, creativity, and learning. But when access comes too early, it can also bring comparison, pressure, and distractions that young minds are still learning to navigate.

The goal isn’t to fear technology because let’s face it….it isn’t going anywhere! But with the right approach we can build awareness, balance, and emotional resilience for generations to come.

At WishWell Empowerment Center, we believe the most powerful voices in this conversation are the students themselves 🎙️.

When kids shut down, pressure rarely helps. Sometimes the most supportive thing you can offer is space without disconnection.

This removes pressure and shows them that connection doesn’t depend on having the “right” words right away. Sometimes the most powerful support is simply staying present. 💛

We’re hearing a lot about the loneliness epidemic in teens right now. The truth is, many young people are feeling it — they just don’t always have a space to talk about it.

At Wishwell, we’re creating a space where teens can speak honestly about what they’re going through — because sometimes the first step is simply being heard. 💜

Sometimes when kids storm off or shut down, what they need most isn’t more questions — it’s patience and presence. 🤍

A simple “Take your time. I’m here when you’re ready.” can help create safety, reduce pressure, and keep the door to connection open.

In this series, we’re sharing small phrases that can make a big difference in hard moments. Because the goal isn’t to win the moment — it’s to strengthen the relationship. 💛
