The Why, how and when
I initially grabbed a camera as a means to survival, it has helped me navigate thru depression and PTSD. The countless walks, hikes and explorations have been a great form of therapy, looking thru the camera lens has helped me express what I am unable to put into words.
My work ranges from bright and sunny to dark and somber, depending on my intuition and feeling to choose the subject matter and the editing vibe. photography has opened a whole new world of possibilities for self expression, I can easily be drawn to shoot landscape, cityscape and portraits. I love using ballerinas to express a variety of feelings and political views. I have a very special place in my heart for our homeless population and very often find my self in deep conversations with homeless, which has let me to start the “Do you see me?” series in efforts to help those that need our help the most, many of us are guilty of walking by a homeless person an act as if he/she/they weren't there at all, thus rendering them INVISIBLE.
My goal is to serve as a conduit of healing thru my images and my testimony, I feel strongly about transmitting a feeling thru my images, the feeling can range from happiness to anger, including sadness, anxiety, disgust, fear, frustration, guilt, confidence, embarrassment, envy, resentment, concussion, loneliness, indignation etc, when one of my images draws out an emotion and this emotion allows to work on your self, I have done my work.
