I had an amazing experience sharing my journey in pro sports at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting in Houston! Thanks to .nakaji for the opportunity and thank you to everyone who attended.

I took a 10-year hiatus from these conferences to build my business and be with my family, but it was great to be back.

To all the PTs and students who contacted me after the talk, be excited about sports PT! There are so many opportunities to get the job of your dreams. I’ll keep everyone updated on my upcoming book launch.

Timelines are everything in sports PT!

Does this describe you as a sports PT:

❌ You say “Let’s see how it goes” to delay having an answer to patient questions

Want to work with higher-level athletes but don’t know how where to start? This is common with new grads and established clinicians without experience managing pro athletes. Before you create a rehab program start with these three things…

Start with outlining their strength and conditioning program. This will tell you how much stress they’re under currently.

Next, establish their practice and game schedule. This will help you insert your rehab program into their weekly schedule.

Lastly, determine their tissue healing timeline to establish realistic goals to return to sport pain-free.
