🌟 Spotlight at Fredericka Manor! 🌟

Our Resident recently joined our Director of Culture and Community, Anna Hall, for an inspiring conversation about her life, her purpose, and the incredible Culture Club she started right here at Fredericka Manor.

She shared how the club has become a space for connection, learning, and building a true sense of belonging within our community. We are so grateful for her leadership, passion, and the joy she brings to those around her! 💛

With 24 acres on our campus, there is always something wonderful to see in nature. This Mallard pair was spotted at Fredericka Manor’s Pond on November 9th. The more colorful duck is the male. Mallards begin forming pairs in the fall and stay together through the winter. Actual mating and egg-laying occur in the spring, starting as early as late February and continuing through May. The female builds the nest and raises the young on her own, while the male typically departs once incubation begins to molt his feathers. Thank you to one of our residents for taking the picture and video!

Our Monday morning discussion group hosted an amazing "Show & Tell" today. Residents were invited to bring an object that tells a story about themselves and the stories that emerged were wonderful! Pictured here are residents who brought family photos from a trip to Rome, a hand-crafted gourd, an Olympic torch carried at the opening games in SLC, a fossilized stromatolite at least 500 million years old, and a cast iron dog nutcracker about 100 years old. It was a great way to start the week and learn more about each other and our rich life experiences.

The array of fall festivities in our community showcases our commitment to tradition and togetherness. Staff and residents display their creativity through elaborate costumes, while our Dia de Los Mu***os Ofrenda serves as a heartwarming tribute to loved ones, including pets. Additionally, a haunted house experience and a trick-or-treat event for local preschoolers underscore the strong connections within our community, comprising residents, families, and staff who are passionate about their work.

The second installment of our Skilled Nursing & Rehab Facilities bus tour has yielded a highly successful outcome. Our unwavering dedication to empowering our residents with a deeper understanding of rehab facilities' role in promoting overall wellbeing persists. The collaborative exchange with experts facilitates the expansion of our community networks and partnerships. We express our heartfelt appreciation to all participating parties and hosts, who have generously shared their exemplary patient care practices and operational insights, thus enhancing our residents' comprehension of accessible benefits and services.

This morning, Fredericka Manor united with residents, families, and staff to support End Alzheimer's. We exceeded our donation goals and successfully initiated this amazing walk! We appreciate all participants and those who supported us from home.

Fredericka Manor’s residents 2nd annual out of town exploring. What an incredible day our residents had on the recent train ride to San Juan Capistrano! The journey was filled with excitement as we enjoyed beautiful views along the way. Once we arrived, we indulged in a delicious lunch and spent hours exploring the charming shops and rich history of this lovely town. It was a fantastic opportunity for our new residents to create memories, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere together. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this wonderful adventure! Can’t wait for our next outing!

What an afternoon to remember at Fredericka Manor's 2nd Annual Country Hoedown! Everyone had a fantastic time, line dancing and enjoying amazing performances by our talented residents. The live music kept the energy high, and we loved capturing all the fun moments in our Photo Booth!
