Wheatland Rural Cemetery Association The Wheatland Rural Cemetery Association (est. 1811) maintains the cemetery and arranges for burials. It is overseen by a volunteer Board of Trustees.

Wheatland Rural Cemetery, formerly known as Wheatland Baptist Cemetery and Belcoda Cemetery, is a historic cemetery located at Belcoda (where McGinnis, Harmon, and Belcoda Roads meet). It is the earliest cemetery in the town of Wheatland and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (https://npgallery.nps.gov/NRHP/AssetDetail/4c345fc0-b603-4402-981f-9ba2dd83762d/). In case of rain we will meet at the shelter at Freeman Park in Mumford, but you might want to swing by the cemetery first. We will put up a sign if we meet elsewhere.

One of our projects in 2022 was the repair of the fence along McGinnis Rd. Thanks to Eric Field and his crew for straightening it, replacing rotten posts and damaged boards, and putting a beautiful coat of high-quality paint on it.

Here a few pictures of the fence being rebuilt last fall on the Harmon Road side. We hope you can make it to the Annual Meeting videoconference this Saturday, May 16 at 1 PM!

The fence on the Harmon Road side was rebuilt in October, 2019. In 2020 it was stained, which we hope will last longer than paint. The existing gate and arch were painted as before.
