Today we tried strawberry soup. Shirley has been telling me about this soup for a couple years now, so I decided to give it a try. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the simple recipe turned out wonderfully, and everyone really enjoyed it.

Wednesday’s Hydrate and Shine event was an extremely fun time for everyone! Normally, this event takes place outside so we can soak up some sunshine while enjoying refreshing drinks. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate this time — it was just too cold. But that certainly did not spoil our fun!

We brought the event indoors and enjoyed snacks along with either an Arnold Palmer or pink lemonade. Residents who wanted to try something new even added strawberry boba bursts to their drinks, which were a big hit!

Since we could not enjoy the sunshine outside, we brought the sunshine inside by playing and singing along with songs with “sun” or “sunshine” in the title. Once we ran out of those, we kept the smiles going with songs that simply brought us joy. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, music, and great company. Everyone had a fantastic time!

Tuesday we had a very delicious and filling brunch at Sunny’s Diner in Henrietta. After brunch we drove around Highland Park to look at flowers. Although most of the lilacs were gone we did see many beautiful Rhododendron bushes. We enjoyed many laughs throughout the afternoon.

Yesterday was our Ladies Tea Luncheon, and it was truly a wonderful afternoon. Our team worked together to create an amazing lunch for all of our ladies to enjoy.

The menu included delicious Italian wedding soup, a fresh spring berry salad topped with strawberries, blueberries, candied walnuts, feta cheese, and a freshly made citrus vinaigrette, along with breadsticks and pineapple upside-down cake for dessert. For beverages everyone enjoyed the hot tea flavor of their choice and a strawberry champagne mimosa.

The luncheon was a huge hit, and everyone enjoyed the wonderful food, conversation, and time spent together. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and great company.

It’s spring, which means it’s time to start flying kites! While we may not be flying real kites here, Christy helped our residents create beautiful kite door hangers to celebrate the season and brighten our hallways. Each colorful decoration adds a cheerful touch and reminds us that warmer, sunnier days are on the way. Great job everyone on your wonderful spring creations!
