Spring has finally arrived, and to celebrate, residents created their own edible bird’s nests. Using Cocoa Krispy treats to form the nests, green-dyed coconut for grass, and chocolate or malted eggs to finish them off, everyone had a great time getting creative. Today we celebrated World Homeopathic Day. To mark the occasion, residents enjoyed a hands-on activity creating two all-natural products. They made an uplifting room spray using orange and lemon essential oils, as well as a de-stress pressure point salve crafted with coconut oil and vetiver essential oil. It was a wonderful way to explore natural wellness while spending time together.

Today we enjoyed a special performance by Tom Dunn, who has been entertaining our community for the past 9 years. His visits have always been something we look forward to, bringing music, joy, and wonderful memories to so many.

We learned today that this would be his final performance with us. We are truly grateful for all the happiness he has shared over the years and the lasting impact he has made on our community. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavors—he will be greatly missed!

Everyone had a wonderful time hunting for Easter eggs today! Eggs were hidden all throughout the first floor of our community, creating plenty of excitement and fun. In addition to 100 regular eggs, there were 9 special golden eggs hidden. Residents who found a golden egg had the chance to spin a prize wheel and win a special surprise. It was a joyful and memorable event for all who participated!

March ended and April kicked off with laughter, fun, and a few playful tricks. We warmed up with hot cocoa—with a little extra kick—while enjoying great company and conversation. Then, on April 1st, our trivia group shared some laughs over a classic April Fools’ joke from France.
One of the favorite “April Fish” jokes among French children is to tape a paper fish to someone’s back without them knowing it. The longer the paper fish stays on someone’s back the funnier it is!

Today we celebrated our Executive Director, Dan, as he embarks on an exciting new chapter. With his recent promotion, today marked his final day with us. Dan has made a lasting impact on both residents and staff, and he will truly be missed.

We are grateful for his leadership, dedication, and the positive energy he brought to our community each day. We wish him all the best in his new position and hope he stops by to visit us again soon!

Happy Birthday to all of our residents celebrating March birthdays! We marked the occasion with a special birthday brunch, where residents and their loved ones gathered to enjoy delicious food and great company. It was a joyful time filled with smiles, laughter, and celebration.

March 28th was National Black Forest Cake Day, and we decided to celebrate with a creative twist by making Black Forest Martinis. The drinks packed a bit of a punch, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed them!

To complement the martinis, we served extra sharp cheddar cheese and almond nut crackers—creating a delicious balance of flavors for all to enjoy.

While residents relaxed with their treats, I also demonstrated how to make homemade amaretto. We’re looking forward to sampling it together in April as we celebrate National Amaretto Day!
