We held our Men’s Luncheon on Wednesday, and it was a wonderful afternoon. The gentlemen enjoyed a delicious roast beef sandwich topped with caramelized onions, provolone cheese, and horseradish sauce, served with a side of fries, specially prepared by our dining department. Lunch concluded with vanilla ice cream and Madeleine cookies for dessert. Everyone left full—not only from the meal, but also from the enjoyable conversation shared around the tables.

On Tuesday we enjoyed a delicious lunch and the warm, welcoming atmosphere at Pure Imagination Cafe in Gates. The best part of the afternoon was the wonderful conversation shared among friends. This weekend, we brought back the cherished days of gathering around to listen to old-time radio. Residents enjoyed hot chocolate and a snack while sitting back and listening to the classic sounds of Jack Benny.
The familiar voices, timeless humor, and nostalgic commercials brought smiles and laughter throughout the room. For many, it sparked fond memories of evenings spent gathered with family, eagerly tuning in to their favorite programs. It was a warm and wonderful afternoon filled with comfort, conversation, and cherished memories. Oh, the memories indeed! 📻☕

We recently took an amazing adventure to Artisan Works — and what an experience it was! With over 500,000 unique pieces of art on display, there was something fascinating around every corner. Residents explored an incredible collection that included vintage cars, historic photographs, memorabilia, sculptures, and countless one-of-a-kind artistic treasures. Because of the incredible variety and the residents’ enthusiasm, we are excited to share that we will be returning later this year to continue exploring all that this amazing space has to offer.

Today our residents enjoyed a delicious and interactive afternoon as they created their own personal pizzas, choosing from a variety of toppings and crafting each one to perfection. The room was filled with wonderful aromas and even better conversation as everyone shared laughs while their pizzas baked.
While enjoying their pizza residents enjoyed viewing a concert by André Rieu. Residents were captivated by the beautiful music and vibrant atmosphere of the concert. Many stayed for the entire performance, fully immersed in the melodies and enjoying the experience together.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with an engaging presentation on the history of the holiday, followed by a delightful Wine & Poetry Happy Hour. Residents enjoyed wine and champagne while listening to fellow residents share both beloved classic poems and original pieces they had written themselves. We have included a photo of a poem for you to enjoy that Bob both wrote and read at this event. Guests also indulged in a variety of delicious chocolate treats, adding a sweet touch to the afternoon. The event was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and warm camaraderie—truly a memorable and enjoyable celebration for all. 💕🍷🍫

We extend our sincere thanks to Abraham and Symora for preparing an amazing selection of traditional African dishes, including rice and kidney beans, Jollof (the red rice), stewed chicken, jerk chicken, black-eyed peas, and peanut butter soup.

Everyone truly enjoyed the opportunity to experience and appreciate the rich flavors of a different culture. It was a meaningful and delicious way to honor the month together.

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating our outstanding 2025 volunteers with a special appreciation luncheon.

Our volunteers support our community in countless ways—sharing their musical talents, directing the chorus, calling BINGO, folding papers for the front desk, serving as welcoming ambassadors for new residents, setting up chairs, tending to our garden, sorting through the hundreds of puzzles we have, creating an amazing monthly news letter, and so much more. Their generosity, time, and dedication truly make a difference each and every day.

Everything they do has a positive impact on both fellow residents and our associates, helping to create the warm and vibrant community we are so proud of.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers for all that you do—we are so grateful for you!

Today we enjoyed a fun and creative craft activity, making beautiful suncatchers using coloring pages, colored pencils, canola oil, and mason jar lids. The room was filled with color and creativity as everyone brought their designs to life.

Super Bowl 60 has come and gone, and while the game itself may not have been the most exciting, we had a fantastic time here at The Parklands. Residents enjoyed plenty of good food, great company, and even a special canine visitor who stopped by before kickoff dressed in his Seahawks gear. There were lots of laughs, lively conversations, and even a few fans cheering for teams that weren’t in the Super Bowl at all—but everyone had an amazing time celebrating together. 🏈🐾
