šŸ’š Anahata- The Heart Chakra

āž”ļø This chakra is associated with compassion and love- for yourself and for others.

āž”ļø If this chakra is imbalanced, possibly due to a previous trauma or a shadow not yet discovered by shadow work, then you likely find it difficult to show yourself some compassion during your grief.

āž”ļø Grief does not require you to "be strong for others". It does not have a timeline you must follow. There is no sand in the hourglass telling you that it's no longer ok to be upset. You won't win an award for being the most stoic griever.

āž”ļø Balancing your heart chakra will help you find compassion for yourself in your grief experience. You'll allow yourself grace as you navigate your loss. You'll feel less pressure to be a "good griever" and recognize that there is no wrong or right way to grieve.

⭐ Manipura- The Solar Plexus Chakra

āž”ļø This chakra is associated with power and confidence. It is located a few inches below the belly button and is fire, willpower, activity, power, and confidence.

āž”ļø If this chakra is imbalanced, possibly due to a previous trauma or a shadow not yet discovered by shadow work, then you probably feel anger with your grief. Blocked power and blocked anger go hand-in-hand. You might also feel particularly triggered by others and how they handle your grief. You may feel they're not validating your feelings, your loss, or your pain.

āž”ļø Grieving can be made to feel worse when we don't feel supported and validated. We might feel anger surrounding that loss and then feel guilt for it. Healing this chakra can help us to feel less triggered or in need of validation from others. Allowing your loss experience to be your own, and independent of anyone else's experience is an important step in healing.

āž”ļø Balancing your solar plexus chakra will help break through the inertia. It will stop the endless challenge between effort and resistance so that you can begin to heal without so much work.

šŸ”¶ Svadhisthana- The Root Chakra

āž”ļø This chakra is associated with pleasure. It is located in the sacral region, the pelvic bowl, and is associated with the reproductive organs.

āž”ļø If this chakra is imbalanced, possibly due to a previous trauma or a shadow not yet discovered by shadow work, then you probably avoid uncomfortable emotions and seek pleasure instead. This can show up as drug and alcohol abuse, workaholism, Netfilx binges, mindless scrolling and more.

āž”ļø Without feeling the depth of your own emotions, it is difficult to grieve. It is difficult understand what you're feeling if you're avoiding feeling it.

āž”ļø Balancing your sacral chakra will help create a place of comfort where you can sit with your raw emotions and observe them without running away.

šŸŽ Muladhara- The Root Chakra

āž”ļø This chakra is the first that is formed, beginning in utero. It is related to our most basic, primal needs- safety, security, food, shelter...

āž”ļø If this chakra is imbalanced, likely due to a previous trauma or a shadow not yet discovered by shadow work, then you likely struggle to find a felt sense of safety.

āž”ļø Without feeling safe, it is difficult to grieve. It is difficult to express your emotions, be honest with your feelings and experience. You have to FEEL SAFE to tell your story, and you can't heal until your story IS HEARD.

āž”ļø Balancing your root chakra will help create a more secure foundation from which to begin your healing work.

When we tell ourselves we are fine, or tell others we are doing well, we are out of alignment with our truth. The body know that a loss has occurred and trauma is left behind. But each time we fake a smile and hide our pain we are robbing ourselves of a step toward healing.

Pretending you’re fine when you aren’t only distracts ourselves and others from the truth. And the truth is grief is painful. And we can’t move through it until we can be honest about it.
