Now offering:
Two Hour Horse Immersion
Horses are astute at reading human emotions and have become the most popular animal to use in animal therapy because they mirror the feelings of the handler and participant. Horses’ large and intimidating appearance encourages individuals to gain trust around them.
In the wild, horses will synchronize their heartbeats to the other horses in the herd to sense danger more quickly and studies have shown that they use those tactics in domesticated life as well. In fact, a horse can sense your heartbeat from four feet away!
Miss Ginger has been partnering in therapeutic riding and groundwork for over 6 years and has demonstrated an uncanny ability to read people, their emotions and anxiety and offers tenderness, kindness and a unique joy that comes from being with her.
Last year, a young woman with extreme anxiety came out to visit Ginger. After spending time grooming her, she grazed her in a meadow adjacent to the stable. After 30 minutes, she took Ginger back to her stall and offered her some treats. While we talked, Ginger lowered her head and yawned 9 times! Yawning, a soft eye, blowing, and lip licking are all signs of relaxation. Ginger was able to absorb some of the woman’s anxiety, leaving the woman feeling more relaxed.
Earlier this year, we welcomed 6 individuals with Alzheimer’s and their care providers to participate in horse immersion. The love and gentleness Ginger offered was delightful to watch!
The immersive experience is tailored to your group and their individual needs. We welcome up to 4 children with a parent or care provider or 6 adults.
During this unique experience, you and your friends will take a deep dive into everything horsey! We will study behavior, anatomy, grooming, care and if desired, we’ll paint Ginger! This experience is for people of all ages and ability.
Ginger and I look forward to our time together!
