Hey team,
We are reaching out to you on behalf of Darryn Chenault to help us share the news far and wide that he needs a kidney transplant. If you or anyone you know is interested in being a living kidney donor, contact Bri Bronson at 513-585-1427. Bri is our Kidney Donor Transplant Coordinator with Christ Hospital and will guide individuals through the process.
We learned last month that Darryn needs a kidney transplant due to chronic kidney disease to continue living a long active life. A living donor transplant would provide a longer life expectancy than a deceased donor's kidney or dialysis. Plus, a living donor transplant is more common, and finding a match is quicker than waiting on a deceased donor kidney transplant.
Darryn Chenault is 50 years old and lives in West Chester, OH. Although many wouldn’t notice because of his upbeat spirit, his kidney disease has challenged his ability to live an active lifestyle. He desires nothing more than to be energetic and healthy. Pure fatigue is the hardest symptom to cope with as his body just can’t perform what his mind pleads him to do. Darryn loves to enjoy time with family and friends without the worry of being immunocompromised and worn out. This Ohio Police Officer of the Year wants to have the medical clearance to return to work and serve his community as an active Community Engagement Police Officer in the field representing the University of Cincinnati; something he hasn’t done in a while. He craves to be enthusiastic at football practices and games, passionately coaching high school football as he has for the last 32 years. His absence from mentoring inner city youth is significant to the schools he serves. With your help, we can get Darryn off the sideline and back into the game!
"I look forward to the day that I’m not tired, or unwell and can live my life to the fullest. A kidney from a living donor could provide me with more years of life than if I were to start dialysis or receive a deceased donor kidney. If you would consider being my living donor, please contact Bri Bronson at 513-585-1427. Donation costs are covered by my insurance, and the information you share will be kept confidential with the transplant team." – Darryn
Please like our post and share it on your personal page. Encourage your network to do the same to help us reach as many people as possible to hear Darryn’s story. Living kidney donors do not need to be his relatives, so let’s cast the net wide in search of a potential donor match. The sooner we find a donor the quicker we can get Darryn back to living his best life.
If you have questions or want to learn more about Darryn’s story and/or his transplant needs, contact one of his Co-Donor Champions, Dana Parker at 513-295-2855 danacparker77@gmail.com or Kennedy Chenault at 513-823-1957 kchenault14@gmail.com.
To start the donor matching process, contact Darryn’s Kidney Donor Transplant Coordinator Bri Bronson at 513-585-1427.
Thanks!
Dana & Kennedy
