Oh and what a journey!đ
When Youâre Raising KidsâŚ
There are seasons in parenting â and each one asks something different from us.
đś Ages 0â5:
This is the discipline stage.
Youâre not being âtoo strictâ â youâre laying foundations.
Youâre teaching them what ânoâ means, whatâs safe, whatâs kind.
Youâre guiding them with love, structure, and consistency.
Itâs not about control â itâs about building trust and security.
đ§ Ages 5â13:
This is the training stage.
Now, they start to see the world on their own terms.
Youâre showing them how to navigate choices, friendships, schoolwork, and emotions.
You model what respect, patience, and responsibility look like â because theyâre watching closely.
Every correction, every talk, every example⌠is shaping their inner voice.
đŚ Ages 13â18:
This is the coaching stage.
You canât control every move now â you guide from the sidelines.
You listen more, lecture less.
You help them think through consequences instead of rescuing them from them.
Theyâll stumble, and youâll want to fix it all â but this is where they learn strength, values, and self-awareness.
đ§ 18 and over:
Now, you become a friend.
You trust the seeds you planted.
You let them come to you â not because they have to, but because they want to.
You get to enjoy the adult theyâve become, knowing youâve walked every stage with love and intention.
Each stage asks us to let go a little more, to trust a little deeper, and to love without trying to control.
Parenting isnât about doing it perfectly â itâs about showing up with patience through every season.
