Happy Wednesday! I thought I would follow up the post from Monday with a nice example of what an can do. This patient felt she was unable to see much of her upper eyelid. This was partially due to excess upper eyelid skin but also due to her natural anatomy, including the natural volume around her brows. Every patient has different surrounding anatomy that affects how an upper blepharoplasty will look. Trying to get to the same effect by being very aggressive with the removal eyelid skin and by removing a large amount of fat from the pockets in the upper eyelids in patients with such anatomy is unlikely to improve the cosmetic results and can cause functional problems with the upper eyelid in my opinion. This patient was thrilled with her results. We are too!

Happy Monday! This beautiful patient of mine felt she looked tired around her eyes. She described lower eyelid bags and fallen brows. You will also notice a subconscious lifting of her right eyebrow to relieve some of the overhang. She underwent a fat preservation , lateral , and . Not only do her eyes look more youthful with less excess skin, lifted eyebrows, and resolution of the bags under her eyes, she also no longer needs to lift her right eyebrow. Also notice the smoother transition of her lower eyelids into her cheeks. Instead of removing all of the fat in her lower eyelids, I transposed her fat down towards her cheeks to achieve this. I am so grateful to have been able to take care of her!

Happy Thursday! This lovely patient of mine desired less heaviness in her eyes. She is three months out from an and lateral (brow lift). I love how the combination of these two procedures can restore much of the youthful contours of the upper eyelids and brows by lifting the brows up and back in a natural direction - preventing an unnatural “surprised” look -, removing excess skin, and smoothing drooping volume. She is thrilled with her results, as am I. I think her eyes look much more open and bright!
