Have you ever wondered what myopia is? 👀 Myopia is the term for nearsightedness, which causes distant objects to appear blurry, while near objects are clear. It happens when the shape of the eye causes light rays to bend or refract. Light rays that should be focused on nerve tissues at the back of the eye, called the retina, are focused in front of the retina instead, making far vision blurry. In the picture below you will see normal vision has a normal focal point at the retina, where as with myopia you can see the focal point is in front of the retina and the signs in the back of the picture are blurry.
