In our latest blog, we explore what masking looks like, why it develops, the emotional cost it can carry, and how unmasking can support mental health and identity.

If your teen responds to “How was therapy?” with “I don’t know,” it doesn’t mean therapy isn’t working. In DBT, those words are often a sign of emotional overload, not resistance.

Our latest blog explains what “I don’t know” really means, how DBT helps teens build emotional awareness, and how parents can support the process without adding pressure.

Do Sundays start calm but end heavy? You’re not imagining it. 💭
In this blog, Cat Perry (she/her), MA, LPC explores the Sunday Scaries, why they show up, and how grounding and awareness can help ease anxiety and stress before the week begins. If these feelings sound familiar, therapy can help. Cat is currently accepting new clients and works with anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm.

Christmas Eve can bring comfort and heartache all at once, especially during the first holiday without someone you love. Grief may show up in quiet moments, traditions, or unexpected waves. This season isn’t about “being okay,” but about making space for remembrance, love, and whatever you’re feeling. Support and resources are available, you don’t have to navigate this alone. 🤍

December can make even the most organized families feel off track. Between holiday events, disrupted schedules, colder mornings, and mid-school-year burnout, routines can fall apart fast. If your mornings have started to feel chaotic again, this is the perfect time for a reset.

This blog breaks down how DBT mindfulness skills like observing, describing, and taking a non-judgmental stance can turn stressful school mornings into calmer, more connected starts. These skills aren’t about perfection; they’re about grounding your family when everything else feels messy.

Whether your teen is overwhelmed, you’re juggling too much, or the holidays have thrown everyone off, these simple tools can help you reclaim your mornings one breath at a time.
