Before there were therapy apps… there were everyday ways we coped. Some of the things we did growing up helped us regulate, express ourselves, or feel connected, even if we didn’t have language for it yet. Today, DBT offers structured, research-backed ways to strengthen those capacities on purpose.

Think you can “fix” a week of late nights by sleeping in all weekend? 😴

In her latest blog, Robyn Williams, LPCC, explains what sleep debt really is and why you can’t fully erase it with one long Saturday morning.

Chronic sleep loss can impact:
• Focus and decision-making
• Mood and stress levels
• Anxiety, depression, and burnout
• Physical health and immune function

Sleep isn’t optional, it’s foundational to your mental health.

Robyn specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and works with teens and adults in a compassionate, judgment-free way to build practical skills for everyday life. She is currently accepting new clients.

If you’ve been feeling foggy, irritable, or constantly exhausted, therapy can help you build habits that support real change.

When an individual is experiencing urges or engaging in behaviors such as disordered eating and self-harm, they are often feeling emotionally overloaded. The CARESS model was designed to create self-sufficient, soothing strategies to create more meaning from an urge, rather than being told the individual cannot/is not allowed to engage in a self-destructive behavior. This approach is intended to feel less restrictive and limiting. Engaging in the CARESS skill accomplishes what the self-destructive behaviors hope to achieve, and also decreases the need to engage in these patterns over time.

This Presidents Day, we’re reflecting on leadership, not just in history, but in our own lives.

Leadership isn’t only about titles. It’s about values, integrity, and the willingness to make thoughtful decisions, even when they’re hard.

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy, we talk about building a life worth living. That often requires leading ourselves with intention:
✔ Practicing wise mind
✔ Acting in alignment with our values
✔ Choosing effectiveness over impulse
✔ Staying committed to growth

Today is a reminder that meaningful change starts with steady, values-driven action both individually and collectively.

Wishing our community a safe and reflective Presidents Day.
