"strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness : personal bravery"

Thank you VALOR team of Altafiber for your service to our country! Thank you for your dedication to honor all of the veterans interred at Gate of Heaven again this Memorial Day, and especially to remind everyone of what Memorial Day is... to show our respect to the men and women that served our nation and never returned back home!
God bless all of you and your families always and all ways!
God bless our America!

"Let us pray for each and every veteran who has served our country through the years. We thank you for the sacrifice. Comfort those who struggle in life after war. Help us to continue to share the United States history, and to honor those who have given so much for us, especially for the men and woman who died in action, serving our nation, and protecting our country. Amen."

For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies.
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.
For the wonder of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale and tree and flower,
sun and moon and stars of light,
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.
For the joy of human love,
brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth, and friends above,
for all gentle thoughts and mild,
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.
For yourself, best gift divine,
to the world so freely given,
agent of God's grand design:
peace on earth and joy in heaven.
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.

GodTube.com - History of the song:
"For the Beauty of the Earth.", written by Folliot Pierpoint in 1864, praises the beautiful world that we inhabit and the many things he loved. He mentions many aspects of existence for which he is grateful, including the earth and skies, tree and flower, human love and "best gift divine." This joyous hymn is a great reminder of all the beauty that surrounds us and to not take this for granted.
The Story Behind For the Beauty of the Earth
The initial poem was published in eight, four-line stanzas under the title, “The Sacrifice of Praise.” British hymnologist J. R. Watson proposes, “It is said to have been inspired by the view of Folliot Pierpoint's native city of Bath on a spring day.” The original refrain, “Christ, our God, to thee we raise/This our sacrifice of praise,” reflects the theology of the Lord’s Supper as a sharing in Christ’s sacrifice. “For the beauty of the earth” appeared in the final “Miscellaneous Hymns” section of Lyra Eucharistic. Changes made to the hymn and accepted by the author made it suitable for a larger scope of liturgical opportunities."

GOSPEL - FRIDAY OF THE FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER,
MAY 23, 2025
JOHN 15:12-17
Jesus said to his disciples:
"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one's life for one's friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves,
because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends,
because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you
and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another."

Mary, Queen assumed into heaven, I rejoice that after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in heaven by the Holy Trinity.
Lift my heart with you in the glory of your Assumption above the dreadful touch of sin and impurity. Teach me how small earth becomes when viewed from heaven. Make me realize that death is the triumphant gate through which I shall pass to your Son, and that someday my body shall rejoin my soul in the unending bliss of heaven.
From this earth, over which I tread as a pilgrim, I look to you for help. My prayer is from my heart to you, oh Mother.
When my hour of death has come, lead me safely to the presence of Jesus to enjoy the vision of my God for all eternity together with you. Amen.

GOSPEL - THURSDAY OF THE FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER,
MAY 22, 2025
JOHN 15:9-11
Jesus said to his disciples:
"As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and remain in his love.
"I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and
your joy might be complete."
