Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Lord Farquaad escaped the swamp and took over our halls — along with Pinocchio, the Three Blind Mice, the Gingerbread Man, W***y Wonka, a member of the Lollipop Guild, the Scarecrow, a unicorn, and even a slice of pizza! 🧙‍♀️🦄🍕

It turns out that laughter, friendship, and a little bit of chaos make the best kind of magic. 💚

🌟 Patient Success Story: Strength, Determination, and Family 🌟

We recently had the privilege of caring for Lindsey, a young mother of two — Max (3 years old) and baby Hudson — who came to Liberty Rehab Hospital after spending four months in the hospital following a life-threatening aortic dissection just four days after giving birth to her second child.

During her hospitalization, she faced enormous challenges — including multiple organ failure and a small stroke — leaving her profoundly weak and unable to sit at the edge of the bed when she first arrived at Liberty.

Through incredible determination and the support of her incredible family, and our therapy and nursing teams, she made amazing progress. 💪 She regained independence with wheelchair mobility, slide board transfers, and self-care activities, and even stood in our parallel bars for one-minute intervals before discharge.

Last Friday — exactly four months to the day after her medical emergency — Lindsey returned home to her wonderful family. ❤️

We are so proud of her hard work, her resilience, and her commitment to recovery. This is what inpatient rehabilitation is all about — helping patients rebuild their independence and get back to the people and lives they love most.
