💙 Feature Friday: Celebrating Janet Neidhard 💙

Today is a very special — and bittersweet — day at Saint Joe’s.

After five years of dedicated leadership, Janet Neidhard is officially retiring as our Chief Financial Officer.

Janet joined Saint Joe’s on February 3, 2020 — just weeks before the world changed. Through uncertainty, growth, and new opportunities, she has been a steady, thoughtful presence guiding our organization with integrity and care.

Coming from a for-profit background, Janet made the intentional decision to align her career with her values. She once said after interviewing at Saint Joe’s, “This is good. This is what I want to do.” And we are so grateful she chose us.

Beyond her financial leadership, Janet brought her whole heart to our community. From leading Christmas caroling cottage to cottage, to sharing music alongside her family during special celebrations, she reminded us that Saint Joe’s is more than a workplace — it’s a community.

Janet, thank you for your wisdom, your faith-filled leadership, your laughter, and your steady hand over the past five years. You have helped ensure that our mission will continue to thrive for generations to come.

Please join us in wishing Janet a joyful, well-deserved retirement! 🎉

💡 Wisdom Wednesday: Did You Know?

Did you know local volunteer groups are always welcome at Saint Joe’s?

We love partnering with schools, businesses, churches, and community groups to create meaningful experiences for the individuals we serve. Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome students from Saint Ursula Academy to our Adult Day Program!

The group spent the afternoon making fizzy slime, playing musical chairs, and sharing lots of laughter. Our participants had an absolute blast — and so did we. 💙

Volunteers don’t just give their time — they bring energy, connection, and joy into our programs.

If your teens, coworkers, or community group are interested in volunteering with Saint Joe’s, we’d love to connect! Please reach out to us at info@stjoescincy.org

❤️ Feature Friday: Valentine's Day at Saint Joe’s ❤️

Our residents and their families gathered in Seton Hall for a joyful Valentine’s Party filled with sweet treats, laughter, music, and meaningful time together. It was a beautiful reminder that Saint Joe’s isn’t just a place to receive care — it’s a place to celebrate life and community.

Over at Day Program, the fun continued with creative Valentine’s crafts, festive activities, and plenty of smiles. From decorating to dancing, our participants made the day extra special.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Recreation Teams on Main Campus and at Day Program for making these moments possible. Your dedication creates opportunities for connection, celebration, and joy all year long.

💙 Mission Monday: Meet Taylor (Miss T)

Some people bring energy into a room.
Taylor — lovingly known as Miss T or just T — brings peace.

Taylor first became part of the Saint Joe’s family in 2010 through respite services and officially became a resident in 2022. From day one, she has been surrounded by a team who treats her exactly how her family describes Saint Joe’s: like family.

What makes T so special?
Her family says it best — there’s an angelic peace you feel when you’re near her. 💫

T loves having her hair and nails done, relaxing in the pool here at Saint Joe’s, listening to music, and cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals. She especially loves being outside — walks in nature are one of her favorite ways to spend the day.

Taylor connects with others in her own beautiful way. When she’s relaxed, you can feel it. And if something isn’t quite right, she lets you know — a reminder of how deeply in tune she is with the world around her.

She also has four brothers who absolutely adore her, and next year she’ll be part of a very special wedding celebration as she welcomes a sister-in-law into the family. 💍

Her family shared something that means everything to us:
“Everyone at Saint Joe’s makes T feel loved and special… They treat our girl like family — and that’s what Saint Joe’s is to us… family.”

And that’s what Mission Monday is all about. 💙

Feature Friday 💙

Today we’re celebrating an incredible partnership with May We Help — and the joy they brought to our youngest residents.

What started as an idea turned into something truly special: a custom adaptive car designed so our little ones can safely sit, play, and experience the fun of “driving” just like any other child.

This isn’t just a toy.
It’s inclusion.
It’s accessibility.
It’s creativity meeting compassion.

May We Help designs and builds custom adaptive equipment at no cost to families and organizations — creating opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to engage more fully in the world around them. And today, we got to see that mission in action.

The smiles said it all. 💙

We are so grateful for community partners who use their talents to make childhood more joyful and accessible for everyone.

Thank you, May We Help
Please help us thank them in the comments! 👏💙

💙 Mission Monday | Employee Spotlight 💙

Meet Charyce McCants, Nurse Manager – Team 3, who is celebrating 15 years at Saint Joe’s this March! 🎉

Charyce’s journey is a true Saint Joe’s story. She started as a DSP, went on to nursing school, became a floor nurse, then a supervisor, and today leads as a Nurse Manager—a testament to growth, dedication, and believing in what’s possible.

What first brought her here?
✨ “I was dropping a friend off at work, and something in my spirit told me I wanted to work here.”

What keeps her here?
😊 “The energy from the residents. Even on your worst day, their smiles make your problems pause for a moment.”

Charyce describes Saint Joe’s as a tight-knit, family-driven community—one that takes both residents and employees seriously (with plenty of love and laughter along the way).

One moment that stands out most to her was a resident talent show, where she stepped back and realized just how special this place is:
🎤 “We give people a voice—people who may be seen as having none, but they absolutely do.”

Thank you, Charyce, for your leadership, compassion, and 15 years of incredible service to our community. We’re so lucky to have you!

Feature Friday 💙

From the beauty of Krohn Conservatory 🌸 to the excitement of Redsfest ⚾ — our residents have been out and about, soaking up some of the best experiences Cincinnati has to offer!

These moments don’t just happen. They’re thoughtfully planned by our incredible Recreation teams, who work behind the scenes to make sure every outing is accessible, meaningful, and full of joy.

Just look at those smiles — it’s clear how much our residents love exploring the community, trying new things, and making memories together. We’re so grateful for a team that goes above and beyond to make experiences like these possible.

Wisdom Wednesday💡

Did you know last year at Saint Joe’s…
🕒 600,000 hours of care were provided across all our programs.
💊 Over 1,100 medications were safely administered every single day.

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a team deeply committed to providing compassionate, consistent care — 365 days a year. 💙

Mission Monday 💙

At Saint Joe’s, our mission starts from within.

We’re proud to recognize our Employee Giving Program, made up of 50+ incredible team members who have chosen to give back in 2026 by donating a portion of each paycheck directly to support the people we serve.

Because generosity deserves celebration, we hold a monthly drawing for participating employees to win a gift card and each individual receives a new Saint Joe’s backpack.

✨ Congratulations to our very first winner: Jamie Smith! ✨
Thank you, Jamie—and thank you to every employee who leads with heart, purpose, and commitment to our mission.

This is what Mission Monday is all about. 💙
