New findings!
A study led by our experts found promising results for a nasal COVID-19 vaccine — a needle-free option that may offer stronger protection.

The vaccine was well tolerated, absorbed through nasal tissues, and reduced the risk of infection by at least 67% compared to those who’d never been vaccinated.

New study for healthy children 3 to 33 months old:

Our Cincinnati Children's Clinical Research Studies is conducting a research study for healthy children 3 to 33 months old. Healthy children play an important role in research by helping us understand how they grow and develop—knowledge that can lead to better care, illness prevention, and healthier futures. Families may receive up to $640 for participating. See if your child qualifies through the link in the comments.

We’re committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Fragile X syndrome (FXS), and their families, by improving children’s health, quality of life, and long-term outcomes. About two-thirds of people with FXS also have a form of ASD. That’s why our Cincinnati Children's Clinical Research Studies team is conducting a study for children 5 to 10 years old with ASD and/or FXS. The study explores whether listening to different tones and sounds can help improve learning and sensory symptoms in children with FXS. This research could fuel groundbreaking discoveries in ASD and FXS research and care. Learn more and see if your child qualifies: https://redcap.link/Entrain

Girls 9 to 13 years old and boys 10 to 14 years old who may be at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes are needed for a study. In this study, we are focused on discovering why some children are more at risk for type 2 diabetes than others. We are inviting families across the U.S. to help us figure this out. You will be compensated for your time. To see if your child qualifies, go to www.redcap.link/discovery or contact the study team at discoveryinteens@cchmc.org.

🫁 Big step forward in lung research! Scientists at Cincinnati Children’s have grown mini human lungs in the lab—with their own blood vessels.

This helps researchers understand how lungs develop and how rare and life-threatening conditions, like those that cause newborns to struggle to breathe due to malformed blood vessels, happen in the first place.

💡 Why this matters:
• Brings us closer to repairing damaged organs
• Sheds light on rare lung disease in newborns
• Offers clues to healing damage from viruses like COVID-19

This cutting-edge research was led by our experts in our Center for Stem Cell and Organoid Medicine (CuSTOM).
