🌟 Student of the Week: Caylin Fox 🌟

Congratulations to Caylin Fox, a senior in our 3-Year BSN program graduating this fall, for being named our Student of the Week!

Nominated by Professor Susan Miller, Caylin is known for her enthusiasm and willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed. In clinical, she recently volunteered to support a new memory care resident who was anxious in an unfamiliar setting, compassionately walking alongside her to help ease her fears. Caylin also eagerly assisted with activities for residents, earning rave reviews from staff for the joy and positivity she brought to the experience. As Professor Miller shared, “Her attitude sets a tone for the class that makes learning fun.”

Caylin chose The Christ College because of its close connection to The Christ Hospital and the strong reputation of its graduates. “Seeing how well-prepared they are reassured me that this was the right fit,” she said. She also values the smaller class sizes and supportive environment that have helped her grow throughout nursing school.

While in school, Caylin works in Patient Transport at The Christ Hospital Health Network, gaining experience with a wide range of patients and becoming more comfortable in the hospital setting. Inspired by her mom and close friend Rachel—both nurses—Caylin enthusiastically accepted a position in the CVICU, Critical Care Nurse Residency Program at The Christ Hospital after graduation.

We are so proud of the compassion, dedication, and positivity Caylin brings to the nursing profession! 💙

The Christ College was proud to participate in The Future Workforce: Inspiring Youth to Achieve Their Dreams at The Christ Hospital Health Network!

Through a partnership between The Christ Hospital’s Black Excellence United Resource Group and Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, more than 30 students from Robert A. Taft High School and Hughes STEM High School explored healthcare careers through mentorship and mock interviews.

A special shoutout to our Medical Assisting faculty, Megan Luck and Travonna Howard, and to Grace Ross, Academics Sr. Administrative Assistant, for supporting students during the interview experience.

Together, we’re empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals!

🌟 Student of the Week Spotlight: Ellianna Landers 🌟

We’re proud to recognize Ellianna “Ellie” Landers for her decisive action and strong clinical judgment during NUR 423 at Bayley Adult Daycare. When a resident experienced a serious fall, Ellie “jumped in to get vitals and remained with the patient until he was taken by ambulance,” ensuring calm, continuous care in a stressful moment. She also identified that the patient was on a blood thinner and proactively communicated this critical detail to EMS. As her clinical instructor Carrie Burcham shared, “Ellie jumped in and did a fantastic job, and I am very proud of her.”

Ellie is a senior in our 3-Year BSN program, where she values the small class sizes, The Christ Hospital affiliation, and affordability. She says the program has been “a great fit,” allowing her to build close relationships with professors and “develop my clinical judgment skills in the classroom and the clinical settings.” Ellie also shared, “I have met some of my best friends and the most amazing nurses through the college that inspire me to be better every day.”

After graduation, Ellie plans to complete the Critical Care Nurse Residency at The Christ Hospital and transition into the CVICU—an impressive next step for a student already excelling under pressure. 💙

🌟 Cohort Spotlight: Nursing Fundamentals 🌟

Energy, teamwork, and hands-on learning were on full display in today’s clinical lab!

Students dove into engaging scenario-based activities led by Professor Elkins, sharpening their critical thinking and clinical judgment skills. With guidance from Professors Newcomb and Lambert, they also practiced medication administration, building confidence in one of the most essential aspects of patient care.

And of course—it wouldn’t be lab without a little fun! Students showed off their skills (and competitive spirit!) during lively ace wrap races, bringing plenty of laughter and energy to the room.
