Turns out I didn’t fall off the face of the earth…

Through SyneRxgy, I’ve been busy working in four different clinics each week, helping providers and patients manage chronic conditions with one main goal: fewer medications, better health.

Also just a bit of traveling! I highly recommend checking out what AMINA ABUBAKAR has created with RohoVoyage.

Thanks to Ohio’s provider status, I can:
✅ Bill for patient visits
✅ Send in prescriptions
✅ And — as of July 11, 2025 — prescribe for patients with substance use disorders. (Still a little surreal seeing my name on a pharmacy label!)
Thank you Ohio Pharmacists Association for continuing to push forward for pharmacists better serve patients.

In the past 1&1/2 year, I’ve also had the privilege of helping open two new pharmacies in downtown Cincinnati:
💊 NeighborHub Health Pharmacy – led by Amber Etzel (opened 3/2024)
💊 Crossroad Pharmacy – led by Patricia Klein (opened 5/15/25)

And yes — PGx101 is still going strong! We’ve completely revamped the program, with our first new training on October 25, 2025, alongside an amazing team: David Kisor, Dan Krinsky, BS, MS, RPh, FAPhA, and me.

My head has been down, working hard, and as the saying goes, 'Time flies when you're having fun'! This month marks the 10th anniversary of SyneRxgy Consulting. Although I haven't been as active on social media in recent years, this felt like a moment worth celebrating.
Becoming an entrepreneur was never in my initial plans, but I realized that I couldn't provide the patient care I wanted in traditional pharmacy settings. My vision became a reality, and now I have the privilege of working at a different primary care site each day, helping manage chronic disease states.
Furthermore, I'm excited to share that we are in the process of establishing a pharmacy at one of the locations which will be a great service for our patients.
I have had the privilege of working alongside amazing providers, nurses, MAs, office managers, and front desk comrades. I have learned so much throughout the years. It's been an amazing journey and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Vision + God = Dream. What a journey!

I had a dream...
Working in multiple areas of pharmacy, I saw the overmedication of America in every arena: LTC, hospitals, retail pharmacies.
I tried to help individual patients in each arena when I identified drug interactions, unnecessary medications, patients confused or unable to afford meds. I ran into obstacles to be effective through the available avenues.
My dream was to be part of the provider-patient team...in the providers' offices...to be able to sit down with patients and address the above issues in order to help improve outcomes and decrease the needs for higher levels of care through medication management.
My dream came true! And today marks 7 years since I started in an office helping the providers to manage chronic disease states. I have been working in 3 of their locations ever since.
In 2020, in a testimonial by the CEO of Crossroad Health Center. Jamie Berrens stated "The unique perspective of a medication expert has been a win for our patients and our team of providers at Crossroad Health Center."
In November 2022, I was able to bring on another practice. I am literally living my dream every day. What an incredible privilege.

I have been getting more requests from physicians for in-home medication reviews for patients with medication management issues. This was my original business plan and where my heart lies. Don't get me wrong...I absolutely LOVE what I get to do in the providers offices.
I had an in-home consult today with a lady and at the end she said
"You are the most valuable person I have talked to". Pharmacists, our ability to impact a patient's life is priceless. Take the extra minute, go the extra mile. You won't regret it.

One of my missions in life is to empower health care providers, especially pharmacists, to create health care teams that better serve patients. I get to be part of a team in a primary care practice doing this and have seen it change our patients' lives.
