Choosing your surgeon is one of the most important decisions you’ll make in your cosmetic journey.

Not all training, experience, or credentials are the same. And those differences directly impact both your safety and your outcome.

I believe patients deserve to understand what truly defines expertise, not just titles or trends.

In this blog, I share why specialization matters, what to look for in a qualified surgeon, and how the right expertise supports natural, personalized results.

Elective does not mean trivial.

Choosing cosmetic surgery is deeply personal and often carefully considered. But once that decision is made, the responsibility doesn’t end in the operating room.

Recovery is not optional. It’s not a formality. It’s an essential part of your outcome.

Swelling, bruising, fatigue, and emotional fluctuations are all normal parts of the healing process. Respecting them is how we protect your results and your well-being.

Taking time to rest, following post-operative instructions, and allowing your body to heal without rushing the process is not “extra,” it’s part of the investment you’ve made in yourself.

Cosmetic surgery may be elective.
Your recovery deserves to be treated with intention.

Post-op day one is often where reassurance matters most.

Today I’m following up with a (special 😜) patient who had an upper eyelid lift, lower eyelid treatment with Renuvion, and jawline refinement with Renuvion. Swelling and tightness at this stage are expected and part of a normal healing process.

Early recovery is not the result. It is simply the beginning of it. Each timeline is personal, and understanding that can make the process feel much more grounded and predictable.

Comment CONSULT, and we’ll chat about what your recovery timeline may look like.

One of my board certifications is in surgical critical care. What does that actually mean for you?

It means my training goes far beyond aesthetics.

Critical care is where you learn to manage complex, high-risk patients. You develop a deeper understanding of physiology, anticipate complications early, handle emergencies, and make precise decisions when every detail matters.

Even though cosmetic surgery may be elective, it still requires serious medical judgment.

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you my consultation guide to help you prepare for your first visit.

As seen in the Daily Mail ✨

Not all treatments are designed for convenience. Many require proper aftercare and follow-up to ensure safe, beautiful outcomes.

The best results come from thoughtful timing, and travel is something to consider in that process.

5 things I stopped doing as I evolved as a cosmetic surgeon:

1. I stopped saying yes to every request.
2. I stopped prioritizing what could be done and focused on what should be done.
3. I stopped approaching surgery as a standard solution and leaned fully into personalization.
4. I stopped leading with technique alone and integrated both science and artistry.
5. I stopped defining success by outcome alone and focused on how a patient feels in their own skin.

Because your procedure deserves thoughtful guidance, personalization, and a surgeon who prioritizes what is right over what is easy.

I’m always evaluating emerging techniques that offer patients more thoughtful, less invasive options when appropriate.

The ponytail lift with Renuvion is one of those procedures that’s gaining attention for its ability to subtly tighten and refresh the face. But like any treatment, it’s not about the trend. It’s about whether it’s the right fit for you.

In this blog, I share how this approach works, who may benefit, and how I think about it within a personalized facial rejuvenation plan.

Healing is not passive. It is active, layered, and deeply personal.

Physically, your body is doing important work beneath the surface. Emotionally, you may move through moments of patience, reflection, and adjustment. Logistically, recovery requires planning, support, and space.

When we prepare for surgery, we prepare for all of it. Because healing is not separate from your result. It is part of it.

Understanding what recovery truly requires allows you to move through it with confidence and clarity.

How can I tell if someone is truly ready for cosmetic surgery?

It is not about how long they have wanted it.
It is not about a trending procedure.
And it is never about pressure from someone else.

Cosmetic surgery should feel like an intentional decision, not an emotional reaction. My role is not to convince you. It is to guide you, evaluate safely, and ensure you are choosing from a place of clarity and confidence.

Happy National Physicians Week! 🩺

March 25th through 31st is a time to recognize the commitment, discipline, and responsibility that come with practicing medicine.

For me, being a triple board-certified cosmetic surgeon is more than a credential. It reflects years of rigorous training, ongoing education, and an unwavering responsibility to place patient safety, transparency, and thoughtful decision-making at the center of every surgical plan.

Medicine is a privilege. Your trust is never assumed. It is earned through integrity, expertise, and compassionate care.

I am proud to stand alongside physicians who lead with both skill and purpose, and grateful every day for the patients who allow me to do this work.
