May We Help is hosting two equipment events in July. These are open house style events with the opportunity to meet with a PT and take home a new to you (or your child) piece of equipment. Everything we offer is donated to us so that we can get it to you. Equipment is free to the recipient. Visit maywehelp.org for more details.

The Hamilton County Accessibility Advisory Board is official!

This morning, the Board of County Commissioners passed a resolution to establish a diverse 9–11 member board made up of community members with disabilities and/or expertise in disability rights.

The board will advise on improving county-wide accessibility, foster partnerships across government, nonprofit, and business sectors, promote leadership among people with disabilities, and lead public education to reduce stigma and support accessibility.

As I said this morning, my colleague Bree Moss and I are deeply grateful for the commissioners’ unified support and for including us in shaping the AAB. We’re excited to begin working with the county to launch the board in the coming weeks!

Our friend Maggie and her family are the best!!!

Many of you know that Maggie has Spina Bifida. Yesterday we presented a donation to Rhonda Horick from The Spina Bifida Coalition, Inc. This donation of $2800 was from a portion our sales and tips at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. We love being able to donate to a local nonprofit that helps people with Spina Bifida and their families.

This is a bitter sweet day for CareMedical. Our internal leader Kathy is retiring from nearly 40 years at Care. She has been through so many changes in the company and kept things going at all costs!

In partnership with UC Adaptive Athletics and the UC Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, The Bridge Adaptive Sports & Recreation is thrilled to invite middle and high school students with physical disabilities to our exciting Track & Field Racing Wheelchair Demonstration! 🌟 This is your chance to try out our newly acquired track racing wheelchairs and feel the thrill of competing in track and field—the only sport in which adaptive athletes can officially compete for their high school. 🏫

🏀 As an added bonus, registrants will receive up to four complimentary tickets 🎟️ to the UC Women's Basketball Game that day, which will also feature an expo of organizations and vendors dedicated to serving the disability community! The University of Cincinnati’s Victoria Heasley combines her expertise as an engineer and physician to operate an adaptive sports clinic, treating patients and designing specialized sports equipment for people with disabilities.
