⛸️ Hearing loss takes to the ice with 23-year-old Georgian Olympics ice dancer Diana Davis and her partner/husband Gleb Smolkin. Diana's bilateral sensorineural hearing loss resulted from an incorrect dosage of antibiotics at age two. Her coordination was affected, and the resulting safety concerns when performing jumps led to a switch from single figure skating to ice dance in 2016. Read Diana's story:

🧠👂 Did you know hearing loss is linked to dementia?

Untreated hearing loss doesn’t just affect how we hear — it can impact how our brains work. Research shows that hearing loss is one of the largest modifiable risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia.

When the brain has to work harder to hear, it has fewer resources for memory, focus, and thinking. Over time, social withdrawal and reduced brain stimulation can add to the risk.

The good news?

Addressing hearing loss early — through hearing checks, hearing aids, or support — may help protect brain health and keep us connected.
Your ears matter. Your brain does too.
