Behind this smile is strength I didn’t know I had.
Today was another day of balancing work, dialysis, and everything in between — and I’m proud of myself for continuing to show up. Some days are harder than others, but I’m learning to appreciate the simple moments: a peaceful evening, a productive workday, a little extra energy.
Kidney failure is part of my story, but it doesn’t define my spirit. I’m still hopeful. Still fighting. Still believing that my transplant day will come.

The donor process is confidential, and I will not be notified if you contact the transplant team.

People on the kidney transplant list are running out of time. The wait times for a deceased donor kidney are 3-5 years and can be up to 10 years in some parts of the country. I can’t wait that long. A living donor will help me get “off the list” and save my life.

People in kidney failure are very sick. I’m in kidney failure. I may not look sick but I am. My kidneys are unable to perform the vital job of filtering the toxins out of my blood.

Did you know? A kidney from a living donor is more likely to start working immediately upon transplantation. Deceased donor kidneys can be “sleepy and take some time to “wake up” and start functioning. I am looking for a living kidney donor.

It’s ok if you aren’t a match or compatible with my blood and tissue type. You can still help me by going through the testing process to see if you could donate a kidney through the paired kidney exchange or kidney swap. Although I won’t directly receive your kidney, I will receive a lifesaving kidney from someone else in the exchange. You will then donate your kidney to someone else who is in need, saving my life and at least one other person.

As person on the kidney transplant list with an incompatible but willing and approved donor can receive a living donor transplant through the paired kidney exchange program. This means a donor could save at two lives.
