2025 is ending, but the need for behavioral health services isn’t slowing down—and neither can our efforts to grow the workforce that supports it. 📣

Across the U.S., shortages in mental health services affect an estimated 132 million people, with more than 6,600 practitioners needed to fill current gaps. In Ohio alone, demand for behavioral health treatment increased 353% between 2013 and 2019—and continues to rise. Longer wait times for mental health and substance use services are becoming the norm, leaving many without timely care. 🚨

Supporting the behavioral health workforce is essential to ensure everyone can access the help they need—now and in the years ahead.

Guiding Principles keep our work focused, aligned, and impactful.

One of the SW RBHWC’s core principles centers on this: Stay rooted in local needs while engaging at the state level to drive policy and systems change. ✅

When community voices, statewide collaboration, and system-wide solutions come together, we move closer to ensuring everyone in our region can access high-quality, culturally competent behavioral health care.

This is just one of the principles guiding our mission to build a workforce that truly reflects, and can fully support, the communities we serve. 🏘️✨
