I’ve doubted myself for years about many different aspects of my life, but one job without a doubt I knew I was meant for ….. that was being a momma.

Kenneth made me a momma, and I am forever grateful for the time we get to spend together. I have the honor of teaching him what all the world has to offer and encouraging him to be the best version of himself by being an active participant daily. Those are words I live by!

I choose to spend my first Mother’s Day getting fancy coffee, hiking in a local park and enjoying a late brunch at a local diner with my husband and son. Simple and incredibly meaningful.

I hope that’s the tradition. Not a bunch of unnecessary things, quality time is the way to my heart!

Family fun day, got my steps in and our lil tot got his eyes full of Zoo animals! He is weighing in at almost 15 lbs, so ya know, I carried my baby around the Zoo. Incredibly proud that I could physically do it without being out of breath.

5 weeks until I'm on the beach. This is a season of my life but I practice what I preach and I'm focused on some short-term milestones. The beach it is and the zoo will help me get there ☺️💪🏼👙🌴

35 week bump-date!

I am still trying to move my body with intention but with this cold weather moving in, it is making it harder to find motivation. I am still going to prenatal yoga weekly and I look forward to it.

While I could complain about things, i won’t. I have a new appreciation for all those mommas out there! I have my eye on the prize and look forward to holding that little guy here sooner than later…… oh and the special parking at the mall is pretty cool 😉

Just bumping along, 25 weeks pregnant.

Seriously, some days are better than others but it’s really hard when you aren’t able to do the things you used to. But also, I’m 6 months pregnant, so yeah it makes sense that I can’t move at the same speed I once did.

My reality is that watching my body physically grow after an almost 10 YEAR weight loss journey has taken a toll on me mentally. I often feel like it isn’t my own body. Looking back, I might have been taking my physical health for granted.

BUT, being a mom is something I’ve always dreamed of being. I am growing a whole ass human right now and that is awesome. I keep reminding myself of that. It’s hard but I know it will be worth it. So I’m taking my own advice and controlling the things I can control, choosing foods that nourish me (and Kenneth) the majority of the time, treating in moderation without guilt, moving my body with intention and not punishing myself when my body needs rest.

Soon enough I will have little ears listening and watching my every move. I want to set a good example of mental and physical health so my children do not have to endure such an unhealthy relationship with food and sense of self like I did growing up. Consistency in healthy habits is what I will reinforce. So today we ran errands, did yard work, meal prepped a few meals, and then went for a walk. We didn’t climb Mount Everest but we did crush our todo list. A win is a win YALL!

It is the 6th weeks of 2023 and I’m still trying to regain my footing. Here is my weekend replay:

I went to yoga on Friday after meeting with an electrician to help with a major project at our house, worked on a weekend to-do list, met with a SBS client and had dinner with the wonderful couple who hosted us for a month after the flood in our home. I stopped at a new local bakery in my neighborhood to support a local business. Pic of all the goodies I got to share!!

Saturday I got up and prepped smoky chicken thighs stew with butternut squash and kale once I got that going Thomas and I went to target and bought $200 worth of diapers for the five baby showers I have in the next six weeks 🤣 I attended my first one for bebee Bell and you could feel all the love!!

They had all kids of goodie, but I tried to stay as conscious as possible, so I ate the chicken salad and left a croissant graveyard 😂. I came home from the baby shower and started with major laundry. We got a phone call from Thomas’s mom and brother and ended up going out to dinner with them which was not planned but much needed quality time.

Sunday we went to church, grocery shopping, kitchen deep clean, meal prep, and finished up our to-do list. My dinner on Sunday consisted of throwing things together, and that’s okay.

I am reminding myself that today is a new day and a new opportunity to work towards my health and wellness goals. I encourage you to do the same !

December 13, 2013, I decided enough was enough and I was going to embark on a journey to lose weight and ‘get healthy.

Nine years ago, I really had no idea what health meant, but I knew it wasn't my current path. With encouragement and support from my family, I sought help to address my years of unhealthy eating habits.

Looking at the photo that sits on my desk at work every day is a reminder that we all make choices. It's so funny that I remember saying “no one is ever going to see this picture” yet it sits on my desk every. single. day. Reminding me of how far I’ve come

I am thanking my future self, NINE years later, for starting this journey, taking this photo, saying no thank you, asking lots of questions, and most importantly refusing to give up, even when I felt like I failed. I accepted that this is a JOURNEY that does not have an end.

This is a LIFEstyle and one that I am proud to continue.

Sorry I didn't get a balloon this year... But couldn't let the day pass without acknowledging how far I've come and how much more I have to learn!!!

If I can do it, so can you!

Balance: able to enjoy a wonderful meal on a date night!

I chose tequila, soda water, tall, with lime, and a splash of sugar-free lemonade flavoring to start the evening.
I knew my meal was going to be high carbohydrate vegetables (corn), meat & cheese. I chose to skip the extra sugar in a typical margarita to find balance. We shared all the chips & salsa/guac/queso, taco, and corn. All of it was great. Very few leafy vegetables at this meal which is not my typical order at a restaurant. The rest of the weekend I kept it relatively clean and ate lots of fibrous veggies!!!!

Balance can be a choice.

Hoppy Easter Weekend from Griffin and me!

I am visiting my family this weekend and trying to find balance in my meals and stay as active as possible….So I’m throwin’ the bunnies' ears on and hopping’ around helping out.

Holidays are typically the hardest for my clients but I emphasize the importance of balance and mindfulness during events to help work toward their LONG TERM health and wellness goals.

Progress not perfection, my friends! I am looking forward to some homemade carrot cake made from my grandmother's recipe and spending quality time with my family preparing a wonderful meal!
