I have recently added a long post about breathing through anxiety but didn't hit post. Anyway, when you are beginning to feel anxiety or stressed breathe. Several good deep breaths will be helpful. But if you begin to feel light headed or dizzy stop. Breathe in from your diaphram through your nose and breathe out through your mouth. Concentrate on the sound you are making. It is important to start the breathing routine as soon as you are feeling anxiety. You can even vision anxiety flowing out with the out breath and going into a drain on the floor. You might even practice this several times a day.

Good Saturday All: In addition to my offer to talk with anyone about their anxiety and stress due to this outbreak I will put some ideas on this page to help with anxiety. Breathing is the number one rule when experiencing anxiety and stress but you have to attack it when it the feeling of anxiety begins. So, when you think or feel anxiety coming on, begin to deep breathe. Belly breathing is a good way to put it. (Don;t hyperventilate). Take deep breaths engaging your diaphram through your nose, the breath out through your mouth. envisioning the anxiety flowing out of you mouth into a drain on the floor. Listen to your breathing and concentrate on the sound you are making. Really concentrate on the sound.
Practice this several times a day.

Good Afternoon: Because of all the news about the virus and the stress because of financial problems or having kids home from school all day I would like to offer anyone who does not have a therapist an opportunity to speak with me by telephone. I don't have zoom up and running yet but telephone may suffice. If you PM me about a problem with anxiety or depression or simply mind blowing stress we can set up a time for a call. I am offering this once for each person, not ongoing therapy. I have some techniques that are easy to learn to pass on. This is a free service because we all have to help out.
