Meet our Staff

Kathy Legg, a Falmouth, Kentucky native, is a Peer Recovery Specialist who currently works for Addiction Services Council in partnership with the University of Cincinnati Early Intervention Program and Hamilton County Public Health in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has used her lived experience from homelessness, trauma, addiction, and PTSD in maintaining active recovery to reach her sobriety. She works in the Emergency Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, the only regionally verified Level I Trauma Center known to be where individuals without access to healthcare go to get emergency/primary care needs met. There, she connects people with evidence-based treatment while meeting them where they are. She also provides harm reduction education, HIV testing, trauma informed care intervention, and follow-up support. To support her passion, she has obtained her PRS certification in both Kentucky and Ohio and has also trained to work with pregnant mothers in addiction. Professionally, she is working on returning to school to pursue her licensure in chemical dependency counseling and one day open her own treatment center. Her personal mission is to help anyone that wants a hand up from addiction and let them know that there is someone who cares and that they aren’t alone.
