Exceptional Academy is launching in January. Carrie Steenbergen from TherapyWorks Cincinnati, LLC and Dr Elder from Ascent came together to start a new nonprofit. Neurodivergent students ages preschool though high school can attend an intensive academic and mental health therapeutic program two days a week. So many of our neurodivergent students are struggling to find placements and now we have a home for them. This is a dream come true for me, I’ve been working towards this for years.

Congratulations to Exceptional Academy! We’ve hired some amazing staff and are so thrilled to welcome our students in just a few weeks.

In partnership with Therapy Works, we're starting a new nonprofit and two day a week intensive therapeutic program in Loveland launching in January. We're specifically focused on neurodivergent children and will provide supports from an affirming lens. We already have enough to launch high school and preschool and other grades are filling up fast! Tylenol does not cause autism. Blaming the mothers is an old story, and it’s devastating to our community that we are back here again. Tylenol, vaccines, refrigerator mothers, they tell us it must be something mothers did to their children. Because that’s easier than the truth. Autism is genetic. Autistic people are meant to be autistic. And yes, many autistic people need support and need treatment. But equally, autistic people need a world that understands and supports them. And parents need that too.
