In my work and personal philosophy, I firmly believe in being transparent about birth. Birth is undoubtedly a beautiful process, a gift of life in its rawest form. It’s the beginning of a new journey, a new chapter in one’s life. However, it is also true that birth is painful, bloody, and can at times be a tough experience to endure alone.

The perception of birth that we often see in TV and movies tends to romanticize the process, painting a picture that is often far from reality. While it’s not without its moments of beauty and joy, the truth of birth is that it can be gritty and raw. It can be challenging and overwhelming, and it’s essential to acknowledge this.

In my work, I strive to shift the focus from the romanticized version to the real, authentic experience of birth. I want to ensure that each family I work with feels prepared for whatever their baby’s birth process will throw at them. It’s not about scaring them, but about ensuring they are as informed and ready as possible.

Empowerment is key in this process. I want every individual to feel empowered to ask questions, to advocate for themselves, to take control of their birth experience in whatever way feels right for them. It’s about supporting them in making the choices that are best for them and their baby.

When they look back on their birth, I want them to think, “That was difficult, but I don’t regret how I went through it”. Because each birth, each experience, is unique and powerful in its own way. It’s about embracing the journey, the ups and downs, and coming out stronger on the other side.

So here’s to transparency in birth, to realness, to empowerment, and to being prepared. Here’s to acknowledging the challenges, celebrating the triumphs, and supporting each other through it all.

As we celebrate World Doula Day, I find myself reflecting on my journey over the past five years as a doula. It’s a profession that has offered me the privilege of being part of many incredible births, each one unique and special in its own way. In the quiet moments, amidst all the intensity that comes with welcoming a new life into the world, I often find myself in deep reflection. I recall the profound moments I’ve been immersed in, moments that are filled with a myriad of emotions spanning joy, anticipation, fear, and relief.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of helping to support countless individuals on their journeys to parenthood. This has involved answering a wide array of questions, calming and validating anxieties, and guiding them through the maze that is the childbirth process. It’s in these interactions, in these moments of vulnerability, that an emotional bond forms – a bond that is as profound as the experience itself.

Each birth that I’ve been part of has brought with it a new opportunity to witness the beauty of life. It’s an opportunity to lend support, to offer a comforting presence, and to play a role in a process that is as old as time itself. Each birth is a reminder of the incredible power of life, and it fills me with awe every single time.

Reflecting on all these experiences, I am filled with immense gratitude for this journey. I am thankful for the opportunity to play a role in these truly amazing moments. I am grateful for the parents who have placed their trust in me, and for the little ones who have left their tiny handprints on my heart.💕💕

I wanted to share that I had an absolutely amazing week of relaxation and celebration with my family. It was such a wonderful opportunity to take a step back, unwind, and reconnect with nature. 🌿✨ I truly believe that taking time off to recharge is essential for our well-being. Now that I’m back, I feel reenergized and ready to dive back into work with a renewed sense of enthusiasm! 💪 I’m looking forward to taking on new projects and making great things happen.

The highlight of my week was definitely .
