Old Hollywood- New Memories-Lasting Connections. Last month, our residents at Country Club Manor partnered with Artisan Mind for a creative journey into the golden age of cinema ( Notice the 25 cent admisison fee). Through painting, storytelling, and shared reflection, residents explored how classic films shaped their lives and memories.
This special art series drew inspiration from Old Hollywood’s iconic posters, paintings, and visual traditions, celebrating cinema as a meeting place of art, memory, and imagination. Linda remembered being just eight years old, walking to the theater with a group of friends while her parents reminded them to “all stay together.” Alicia shared, “Every Sunday after church my dad gave me a dollar and me and my girlfriend went to the movies. And back then that was enough to get popcorn and soda too. I loved Milk Duds.”
The artwork sparked meaningful conversations throughout our community. A historic photograph of a movie theater from 1910 brought back memories of childhood trips to the movies, ticket prices, and the excitement of going with friends.
We are so grateful for this collaboration and the beautiful way creativity continues to open the door to connection, storytelling, and cherished memories.
