What an honor to witness another amazing resident led Bible Study! 🧡

For months now, our beloved resident Tricia has led our Bible Study gathering. She and her fellow residents take the opportunity to share their faith and encourage one another, read scripture, and prayer together. ✨️

This week our Bible Study had a sweet twist—Resident, Nina baked and shared some amazing banana cookies for everyone to enjoy! 🍪💛

Daily, our residents remind us that joy can be found in every chapter of life. 📖✨

Our Memory Care Carnival-Style Ice Cream Social was a huge hit, and we’re still smiling from all the fun!

Residents and families enjoyed:

✅ Lots of laughter, prizes, and joyful connection

🍍 National Piña Colada Day Celebration! 🍍

This day was full of tropical vibes and sweet smiles at The Courte at Citrus Heights! 🌞

Our Community came together to enjoy a special island-inspired lunch, complete with refreshing Piña Colada mocktails and delicious Piña Colada cupcakes - The festivities brought sunshine to all who gathered. 🧁🍹🌴

🇺🇸 Red, White & Blue Fun at The Courte at Citrus Heights! 🇺🇸

We kicked off our 4th of July celebrations a day early with a tasty BBQ Buffet. For the 4th, our day consisted of loads of heartwarming and festive fun!

Residents enjoyed a lively game of 4th of July Bingo, sang their favorite patriotic songs together, and showed honor to our nation with the Pledge of Allegiance! ❤️🤍💙

❤️🤍💙 With our ✨️SPARK Montessori Program, residents are encouraged to participate in committees that bring them a sense of purpose and belonging. Offering social roles and individualized activities for our residents is one of many ways we are able to bring joy to our Memory Care Community!

🦈Did you know Jaws turned 50 last week? Our residents celebrated this iconic anniversary with a special viewing of the film that once had everyone avoiding the water! 🎬

From themed snacks and fun shark facts to a spirited game of Shark Bingo, the day was filled with laughter, memories, and meaningful moments.

Watching movies from their past isn't just entertaining for our residents—it’s therapeutic. Classic films help spark memories, stimulate conversation, and connect them to emotions and experiences from earlier in life. For those living with dementia, this kind of reminiscence is powerful in promoting cognitive engagement and emotional well-being. 💭❤️

Behind Every Great Event…

Yesterday’s post highlighted our Father’s Day “Tattoos & Brews” celebration which was a hit! While we honored the amazing dads in our community, we also want to spotlight the heart and hands behind the scenes—our incredible resident-led social committee.

This amazing group works hard to plan and execute every detail of our events. Their creativity, commitment, and teamwork are what bring these celebrations to life. Creating purpose and meaningful roles like this is especially powerful for our residents living with dementia, helping foster connection, pride, and joy in everyday life.

A huge thank you to Ledy from Lorian Health for generously donating the flowers and guiding our residents in creating beautiful floral centerpieces. Your kindness and hands-on support made the day even more special!

We’re already looking forward to what’s next… our 4th of July celebration is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Gold Country Band graced our community once again, bringing pure joy to our residents and staff with another unforgettable performance! 💛 The smiles on our residents’ faces said it all — they lit up with every familiar tune, singing along and swaying to the rhythm.

Music offers so many benefits to individuals living with dementia, including:

🧠 Stimulated memory and cognitive function
💬 Encouraged communication and social engagement
❤️ Strengthened emotional connections

As a special thank you, our amazing resident social committee created heartfelt cards to show their appreciation to each member of the band. It was a beautiful display of gratitude and community spirit. 💌
