New to seed saving and learning as I go.
Tried tapping the stem, using a paper bag, and removing seeds one by one—every method worked perfectly!

Spring will come soon enough. For now I’ll enjoy the beauty throughout the flower field ❄️

We’ve been facing a few challenges the last couple of days with losing power.
It’s really made me slow down and focus on the things I can still be thankful for each day, and to learn how to handle the little inconveniences that pop up.

We’re still able to stay warm, I’m able to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and we have plenty of light thanks to all the candles I always find myself wanting.

It reminds me a lot of flower farming — things don’t always go as planned, something might not grow, but you learn how to work around it and stay thankful for what is growing.

If you’re one of the many who has lost power, I hope you’re able to stay warm. And to the families sending their utility worker out to work in these conditions — I’m praying for protection and safety for them all. 🤍

Supposedly today is the first day of winter. Here in Michigan, it’s felt like winter since the end of November—until a few days ago when I thought maybe spring was trying to sneak in early.

Since starting flower farming, I’ve gotten pretty good at checking the weather daily—watching for rain, frost, snow, or those tiny signs that spring is on its way. During the winter months, I’m able to slow down, relax a little more, and enjoy being snowed in.

Winter on the flower farm looks a little quieter. Slow mornings with coffee and a good book, time spent baking, and working on new ideas that could become part of our 2026 season.

Find something you love about each season, and you’ll be amazed at how much your mood can shift. We can’t change the weather, so we might as well be grateful for the season we’re in. 🤍

12/20/2025

Soon enough we’ll be walking the rows of blooming flowers again, and I can’t wait to begin planting all the new varieties this season will bring. 🌸

Just a flower farmer in central Michigan, working through my fall to-do list! ❄️ The snow came sooner than expected, so a few things had to be put on hold. Finally got the wire mesh down to keep critters away from the tulip bulbs. Always such a good feeling knowing that come spring, those tulips will slowly be popping through the soil. 🌷
