Since it's American Heart Month, I thought I would share some interesting links about the process of detecting congenital heart defects (CHD's) prenatally. This is a CDC study published in 2013 explaining that only 15% of the mothers of babies born with a CHD knew about the defect prenatally. Only 15%!!!!!! This personally motivates me to keep trying to help make scanning fetal hearts a little easier.

This study looked at the timing of when mothers receive their baby’s CHD diagnosis, whether it is during pregnancy or after the baby is born.
