This month is a time to raise awareness of diabetes, the types of diabetes, its symptoms, and how the disease affects adults and children.

Happy Veterans Day! Today, we honor, recognize and remember those who served. Every day, we are grateful for our military personnel, past and present, and their families who support them. Thank you for your service!

As a small token of appreciation, we had a Veterans Day celebration across Dartmouth Health.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month!
Did you know that most eligible individuals at risk for lung cancer are not being screened? 1 in 16 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer in their lifetime. Patients aged 50-77 with a history of smoking should seek an appointment for lung cancer screening with their primary care provider (P*P) to determine eligibility. Regular screenings can help detect it early, so we can treat it early.

Interested in quitting to***co products? Beginning January 2025, Valley Regional Hospital will be offering the Freedom From Smoking program® on-site. The group will work with other people who are quitting along with a trained facilitator to set a quit date, build a quit plan, learn new tips for success, and work through your first few months to***co-free. We are excited to share that Valley Regional Hospital has been gifted $1 million dollars by Michael and Sheila Satzow in support of the new medical office building. This extraordinary gift reflects their deep commitment to ensuring that our community has access to exceptional healthcare for generations to come. In recognition of their generosity and longstanding devotion to the region, the new facility will be named the Michael and Sheila Satzow Health Center.

For over a century, the Satzow family has woven themselves into the fabric of Claremont, starting with Abraham’s butcher shop in 1912, growing into North Country Smokehouse under Michael's leadership, and now giving back through their individual gifts and the Fund for Greater Claremont.

Their enduring legacy reminds us of the power of community, tradition, and vision. Michael and Sheila, thank you for believing in Valley Regional Hospital and in the health of generations to come. This building will stand as a testament to your commitment and love for our region.

Congratulations to the Valley Bistro Team on placing 3rd in the non-profit category this past Saturday at the Fall Festival and Chili Cook-off in Claremont.

After nearly a decade away from the competition, their long-awaited return was a success! The bold debut of Pizza Chili was definitely one for the Valley recipe books; zesty, savory and packed full of flavor! A huge shout to head chef, Alexe Hall and culinary specialist, Huzon Stewart, as well as chili cook-off veteran Samantha Woodall for their dedication to flavor and their nostalgic 'Pizza Planet' themed decor.

To celebrate their 3rd place victory, the team will feature Pizza Chili on the upcoming menu for all team members to enjoy!
