🎉 Congratulations to senior Respiratory Therapy student Taylor Leoutsakos for being selected to participate in the Student Mentorship Program at next week’s AARC House of Delegates Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! 🌴

Taylor will spend two full days immersed in the inner workings of our national professional organization—learning, networking, and engaging with respiratory therapists from across the country who are dedicated to advancing and advocating for the field of respiratory care.

This is a tremendous honor, as Taylor is one of fewer than 25 RT students nationwide chosen for this unique opportunity. We’re so proud of you, Taylor! 👏💙

Thank you Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center - Claremont NH for your continued collaboration this year. RVCC has had the opportunity to generate awareness regarding the field of Respiratory Care with multiple groups of students, periodically throughout the year. Airway Avengers Assemble!

This past weekend, the RVCC Airway Avengers hit the streets of Lebanon on a heroic mission—not to battle villains, but to fight for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis!

With compassion and purpose, our team of future respiratory therapists joined forces to raise awareness and funds to support those living with CF. Every step walked and every dollar raised brings us closer to breakthroughs in treatment, care, and—one day—a cure.

Last Friday, River Valley held its annual Allied Health Collaborative Day with our senior students!
This interactive session gave future healthcare providers the chance to collaborate and gain a deeper understanding of each other’s roles through simulation-based learning. Coming together as a team strengthens our communication, sharpens our skills, and ultimately enhances patient outcomes.

Our amazing RVCC freshmen RT students are wrapping up their spring semester with hands-on practice in airway management! From intubation techniques to mastering critical equipment, they demonstrated skill, focus, and teamwork every step of the way.

We’re incredibly proud of the progress they’ve made and the dedication they’ve shown. These future RTs are well on their way to making a real difference in the world of healthcare!

Freshman Respiratory Therapy students are building foundational skills in non-invasive ventilation by practicing mask fitting during lab. Proper application and securement of NIV devices is essential for optimizing patient comfort, minimizing leak, and ensuring effective ventilatory support.

These early hands-on experiences are key in preparing students for clinical application and patient care.

We were thrilled to welcome Lisa Darling and Lisa Depalo as guest speakers in our Freshman Respiratory Therapy class this week!

Students engaged in an interactive session that included exploring different home CPAP devices and mask types, and reviewing actual sleep study data to better understand the diagnosis and management of sleep apnea. This hands-on experience gave our students a clearer understanding of the vital role RTs play in sleep and home care settings.

We were thrilled to welcome Eric Comtois, Lead Neonatal Transport Respiratory Therapist at DHMC and proud RVCC Class of 2013 alum, back to campus this week! Eric delivered an incredible guest lecture to our senior RT students, covering critical topics like bubble CPAP, neonatal intubation, and mechanical ventilation.

His real-world insights and frontline experience gave our students a powerful glimpse into the high-stakes world of neonatal respiratory care. Thank you, Eric, for inspiring the next generation of RTs with your knowledge, passion, and dedication!
