When you hear the word “therapy,” what comes to mind?✨

We believe therapy is more than a place to talk.
It is a space to be seen. A space where your story, your feelings, your goals, your challenges, and your strengths are held with care.💜

This July, we’re revisiting one of our previous blog posts. It explores what it means to go beyond the numbers, because statistics don’t tell the full story. Lived experiences do.
BIPOC communities continue to face daily realities like microaggressions, racism, generational trauma, and systemic stress that often go unseen in traditional wellness spaces.

We hold space for those realities. And we offer care that honors your whole self, your culture, and your healing journey.💜

Did you know your gut is often called your
“second brain”? ✨

That’s because the gut and the brain are in constant communication through something called the gut-brain axis.🧠

When your gut microbiome is out of balance, it can affect everything from your mood and sleep to anxiety, energy, and inflammation.

For BIPOC women who often carry generational stress and experience medical gaslighting, caring for your gut is a radical, healing act. 💜

A few ways to nourish your gut:
- Add fiber-rich whole foods (like greens, oats, lentils)
- Sip on herbal teas like ginger or chamomile
- Prioritize slow meals and mindful eating
- Get outside (sunlight + movement support digestion)

Your healing doesn’t have to be extreme. It can start in your belly✨

✨ The Episode is out!💜

Thank you again Maya and for the privilege of having our founder on your radio program!

It was an honor to share space and shed light on the importance of mental health in the Black community — a conversation that is long overdue and deeply needed. Together, we can continue breaking the stigma, amplifying awareness, and fostering healing 💜

Here’s to more honest dialogue, more care, and more connection. 💜✨

It’s a powerful time to spotlight the mental health experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.🤎

At Women Rise, we know that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It’s rooted in culture, community, and shared knowledge.💜

This month, we’ve curated a list of readings, podcasts, and public initiatives that honor BIPOC stories and support individual reflection + collective empowerment.✨

Follow along, share with your people, and let’s rise together. ✨

Taking care of your mind is an act of courage.
Resting is resistance.
Tending to your needs is not selfish.
It’s necessary.💜

We hold space for healing that honors your lived experience. Whether it’s through movement, therapy, nutrition, or simply pausing to breathe.

You don’t need permission to prioritize your wellness. Start where you are. We’re here with you.

🌱✨ Our founder & CEO had such a wonderful time sitting down with Maya of Black Perspectives IE to talk about mental health in Black communities.

Every time we open up space for these honest conversations, we plant seeds of healing, awareness, and change. 🌿 Because raising awareness starts here — by asking real questions, by showing up for each other, and by centering community care.

Thank you, Maya, for your voice, your vision, and for holding space for this much-needed dialogue. 🖤

📣 What’s one question about mental health you wish our communities talked about more? Drop it below — let’s keep the conversation going. 👇🏾

Let this be your reminder that you’re allowed to move at your own pace, to shine and rest without apology. You don’t need permission to take up space. This month, root into your power and let your presence speak for itself.
Your energy is sacred. Your rhythm is yours to define🌻✨

Say it, save it, and carry it with you.

Minority Mental Health Awareness Month 💜

✨ “You should be done with therapy by now.”
That’s a myth — and one we’re here to challenge.

For many of us living at the intersections of race, culture, and identity, therapy isn’t just about “fixing” a problem and moving on.

As a minority, you navigate ongoing oppression, racial stress, and generational trauma that don’t magically disappear after 6 sessions. These are chronic, systemic experiences, and it’s OK to have an ongoing relationship with therapy to help you manage, heal, and show up for your life.

🌿 Choosing to return to therapy when you need it is a sign of growth and self-awareness — not “dependence.”
🌿 Staying in therapy longer than someone else thinks you “should” does not mean you’re broken.
🌿 Checking in with your needs — and honoring them — is an act of resistance and self-care.

Take your time. Assess your needs. Learn and grow at your own pace. You deserve support — always.

💚 This Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s remind each other: therapy isn’t weakness. Therapy isn’t failure. Therapy is a tool, and you are worthy of using it whenever you need.

July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month💜

We hold space for the truth: Mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all. Systems weren’t built with all of us in mind. And yet our healing is revolutionary.✨

At Women Rise, we center the voices, cultures, and lived experiences that are too often left out of mainstream mental health conversations.💜

This month, we honor the resilience of BIPOC communities and we fight for mental health care that is inclusive and rooted in dignity.

You are not alone. Your healing matters.💜

We had a fabulous time at the House of Ruth’s Rooted in Resilience Wellness Fair!💜✨

From heart-centered conversations to calming moments of mindfulness, the day was filled with beautiful reminders that healing begins in community. We were honored to hold space alongside so many inspiring organizations — and especially grateful to have our very own La’toya guide a grounding Yin & Tea session 🍵🧘🏾‍♀️.

When we prioritize wellness, self-care, and community-care, our communities don’t just survive — they thrive. 🌻

Thank you for the invitation to share in your vision of resilience and restoration. We are so grateful to be part of this journey. 🌱💫
