Jon Wilson Hauge, age 71 of Claremont, NH completed his life’s journey on Oct 30, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.
Born in Utica, NY on June 1, 1954, Jon was the first son to Bob and Ruth Hauge. He graduated from Holland Patent Central School in 1972, where he would meet his best friend Sandy Furlong, who would later become his wife of 45 years. They married on September 20, 1980, and built a life rooted in love, laughter, and adventure.
Jon had a long career of driving truck for Pepsi, McCraith Beverage and BDR Transport, where he traveled coast to coast with his 17-year partner Geoff Mu**er, until his retirement in 2021. If it moved, Jon could operate it. He worked so hard to provide for his family throughout the years to ensure their comfort and happiness.
An avid outdoorsman, Jon had a love for fishing. He fished with his “fishing buddies” Dave St. Pierre and AJ Maranville III in many New Hampshire waters. He also enjoyed to fish with close friends and family in rivers and lakes in upstate New York, Florida and Alaska. He was proud to reel in trout, bass, mackerel, sharks, sting ray, and many salmon. He also loved hunting for deer and game with his “older brother” Rich Quigley and was so happy when he finally got his first deer in 1993. For Jon, it was never about the catch—it was about the time spent with those he loved.
Jon was very easy to talk to and would make you feel like you’ve known him for years. He was loving, funny, smart, patient, handy, and was quick to do anything for anybody. He also enjoyed pranks and scares. He cherished his sons, Andreas Jon and Ryan Alexander, their wives Brittany and Erika, and adored his grandchildren Alexander, Maddox, Henrik, (who lovingly called him “Pop”), and a soon-to-arrive grandchild, lovingly called “miracle #2,” due January 7, 2026. Jon made the most of every moment, creating lasting memories through family vacations and everyday adventures.
Jon will live on through the memories of his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife Sandy, his son Andreas Jon and his wife Brittany and son Henrik, his son Ryan Alexander and his wife Erika and two sons Alexander and Maddox. His sister Andrea and brothers Mark (Rhonda) and Douglas and his Wilson and Laurion cousins.
