The best answer is to maintain a regular screening and examination schedule. It is also important to know your body and know when something is not right, including noticing one of these potential signs and symptoms.

Consult with your healthcare professional if you experience any of these symptoms. Call Northeastern Oklahoma Cancer Institute at (918) 283-4078 with any further questions and visit the link here: https://neokcancer.com/breast-cancer-awareness/

Our last for explains the truth behind the importance of screening for early detection.

❌ Myth: "PSA testing is not beneficial."
✅ Truth: The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test is the best way to test for early-stage prostate cancer, which is especially important for prostate cancers that are asymptomatic. The results from this test help the healthcare professional create a recommended treatment plan.

Today was nothing short of inspiring. We had the honor of attending a Susan G. Komen event and was deeply moved by the incredible strength and spirit of the breast cancer community.

From women just two weeks into their journey to those celebrating 25 years of survivorship, each story was a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the importance of early detection and support. 💪🩷
Meeting these survivors and thrivers—hearing their laughter, their tears, and their triumphs—was a gift we will never forget. Their courage lit up the room and reminded us that together, we are stronger.
To everyone fighting, surviving, and thriving: you are heroes!

Northeastern Oklahoma Cancer Institute is proud to offer the option of SpaceOAR™ Hydrogel to our prostate cancer patients!

During Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, we want to highlight our patient's option to request SpaceOAR™ - an absorbable gel that is designed to create a temporary space between the prostate and the re**um in order to help reduce the radiation dose delivered to the re**um in men undergoing radiation therapy, decreasing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue and the likelihood of side effects.

To learn more and discuss if SpaceOAR™ is a good option for you, give our center a call at (918) 283-4078.

It's time for this week's !

❌ Myth: "Prostate cancer treatment will end my s*x life and cause incontinence."
✅ Truth: This myth often stems from a misunderstanding of the prostate's function. The prostate does not affect libido or cause hormonal conditions; therefore, prostate cancer universally does not impact your s*x life.
